Happy New Year everyone

May 2011 bring you everything you want, starting with a hangover :)

Happy New Year!

My celebration was kinda dampened by that my ex best friend's father and my 4 year football coach, is victim to the disease MS and it (of course) being noticed. He fell at the end of the party, and needed help getting up. Not a jolly experience.

Yet the rest of the day has been a blast as far as I'm concerned. A lot of beautiful fireworks, and I got to taste some delicious food. Also saw Princess Mononoke for the first time, and loved it! :)

I don't think I will make it to midnight. I will try, though.

I admit I miss going to a party (or hosting one which we did two years in a row). Always have friends and family around; playing board games or Rockband until just before midnight, then turning on Dick Clark for the ball drop.

This year it's just me, hubby, and the baby. The baby's already asleep though. :p

Buddy Boy made it to midnight, said "that's it," and went to bed.

I think he found it lacking magick and excitement.

I can't sleep.

Ya, waited until 12, kissed the hubby, listened to some fireworks going off in the hood, and was in bed at 1215.

This morning is even worse.

2011 is gonna suck.

Had a fabulous New Year.

Down at my Dad's place with the lady, one of my two sisters, her husband and their two boys.

Packed the kids off to bed at 9pm.

Cooked up Turkey escalopes stuffed with Boursin and basil, tagliatelle on the side and drizzled with a yellow pepper and orange sauce. My lady had already prepared a rich chocolate mousse serverd in espresso cups, then sliced oranges and soaked them in Crabbies green ginger wine with demara sugar, all served up together.

Got through three bottles of champagne, a magnum of red wine my dad had been saving since 2004, one further bottle of red and one white, and umpteen bottles of peroni. Just chatting and chatting and chatting, switched on Jools Holland for new year.

Ended up going to bed at 3am, latest I've been up for years.

A good start to 2011.
