yogurt love
I was ranting about this a couple of weeks ago in another thread but I wanted to spread the word properly.
Yogurt is extra delicious when freed from the evil influence of excess water. With the aid of coffee-filters or cheesecloth, yogurt can be transformed into a cool, creamy, velvety smooth mass of goodness. With the addition of some vanilla and some icing sugar or the like (just a little bit mind you), it can be further enhanced to the point of being super good. Honestly, if you start out with like 1l of vanilla yogurt a minimum amount of effort and time will leave you with ½l of one of the most delicious desserts you've ever tasted. I reckon blueberry yogurt or strawberry yogurt may be similarly tasty. I'm thinking of adding some lemon to the vanilla yogurt. It should be great for frosting chocolate cupcakes. This should be a great compromise between whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream for use with strawberries. The texture is incomparable. Denatured proteins baby, that's where it's at.
What're you waiting for? Get to it, go fix yourself some yummy yogurt! CHOP CHOP

So basically, Greek yogurt? It's all the rage over here.

Ever have Labna?
I love greek yougurt (contains less water) mixed with dry oatmeal, dried berries, and pecans. Stir it all up and it becomes a sort of creamy concrete. mmmMMMMmmm!

Greek Yogurt with Cous Cous & Lamb Chops is nice. Better yet, Drahana!!

My son learned how to make tzatziki from his Greek grandma :) She uses Fage brand yogurt, hangs it in cheesecloth until it stops dripping, squeezing it out. Add dill weed, pinch of salt, lots of garlic, and olive oil. Great with pita bread and grilled souvlaki. yummm

No cucumber? That's crazy!
Yogurt is also yummy on burnt butter spaghetti. mmMmm...comfort food.

Cucumber goes in her Greek salad. (She uses lemon in practically everything too)
What's Labna?

We've just made the best carrot cake I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a LOT of carrot cake. Strained vanilla yogurt mixed with a bit of cream cheese and flavoured with more vanilla as well as lemon & lime juice. Walnuts in the cake. Hints of cinnamon here and there. It is so ridiculously delicious.
