I'm curious...why would anyone put a fake birthdate in their public profile, when it's just as easy to make it private or leave it blank? :bulb:

Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated... but we are initiated, aren't we Bruce?
Jan 1st is, by a huge margin, the most common birthday of the gaming population.
It is (if its the same as Atari) not possible to leave the date blank as you must be at least 13 to register automatically.
You can hide the date in the profile options.
That requires taking action though, whereas (unless he's really born on NYD, in which case Happy Birthday) then the reason the date was chosen is lack of action choosing the default rather than going out of the way to pick something else though. The default is I believe it being visible.
Besides why bother hiding it if it isn't real anyway?
I am hiding my year of birth. I took me little action in the registration process to do so.
I was born in 1969 and will be 44 in April. And I honestly don't recall why I completed the birth date with a fake date. Thanks anyway, though. It always feels good to be remembered.Quote:
