But if granny wants to provide care for 12 neighborhood kids in her home, she may have to get a license and inspections, meet certain guidelines for safety, nutrition, hygiene. But I don't like how you say "to make sure the amount of freedom offered to people is the same for everyone", it's as if the government must make exceptions to bring everyone to the 'same level', and there's no such thing as an 'amount' of freedom, you're still denying it by using that word alone. Plus there's still the undertone of 'force'. So in that case, should the rest of us be brought down to the level of a mentally retarted person? That's a bullet I'm [more or less] willing to bite, although I reckon most of them have "bought" or otherwise earned the right to a decent existence after retirement, and continue to earn their keep by telling stories to our youngsters. Usually with a religious clause of some sort, or by being a private-membership entity. No, those are limited private membership enterprises. I'd count wholesalers in that group, who only sell to chosen vendors or merchants. Also private dining clubs and social clubs, where any individual walking in off the street can not enter. They don't post signs saying Whites Only but general signs like Private Club, Members Only, or Private Property.Quote:

Open-to-the-public businesses would Mobil gas stations, Piggly Wiggly grocery stores, Walgreen's pharmacies, Walmart, McDonald's.....etc.
