The guitar guy on the left made me think of Neil Young. Ya know, from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young? Camera editors decided to show the guy on the right more, with his piercings and funky hair. But I wanted to see more the guy on the left, especially his eyes. :p
Not that Gabriella wasn't nice to look at and listen to!

Neil Young - Harvest was one of the earliest albums I got my hands on as a kid - not sure how I got it now though...and it was a cassette, not a cd!
Fuck! Who wants to help me search a singer? From the 80s, a lovely looking woman with long blonde hair and a heavenly voice, never made it to main stream, but she sang a sort of sexy jazz skat type of thing. Her name was either Zouzou or Zazou. But I can't find her. :(
Heh, I may have actually posted this one on another Melissa sort of day, but I'm sure you'll all get over it if I did.
I am still listening to Frou Frou, even though they only made one album.
Refused - The Shape of Punk to come (on vinyl!) finally arrived so I am listening to that
I'll keep you my dirty little secret
Slim Dusty...

What do you guys think of this singer? I think her voice is just absolutely mesmerizing
Sorry but this reminds me of a few old fella's I know and respect and after the conversation I had today with an old digger this song just kept bugging me at the back of my mind...

One of the best music videos I've seen in quite a while.
Also this, for no particularly good reason.
Nice, I like the Black Keys.
Hadn't heard of em until recently. Good stuff.

Embedding disabled, and all the live ones really really suck.
yay I found the music thread, I lost it there for a minute. :noob:
Oooh I remember waiting for MTV to play those Madonna songs! :)
Ok I need some help here. Who can tell me which one is Michael McDonald
Or wasn't he in the original Doobie Brothers?
My favorite Madonna.
My first crush ever was on Madonna. I remember sitting at a babysitter's house with her teen magazine staring at her for hours.
My stepdad bought me the coffee table book, too. Odd memory to have suddenly come up - I don't have it anymore, though.
She had a lot of Marilyn Monroe, a touch of Mae West, plus a little Ginger Rogers. I love how she named all the great female Hollywood (well, she never named Esther Williams but I can see it). Moving along to Lady Gaga!
Why don't you have the coffee table book anymore, lolli? :(
No clue, really. I can't even remember when it disappeared.
Anyone else remember this one?
Strange to admit that my mother turned me on to Procol Harum. Conquistador was also great.
Had a kind of Moody Blues sound.....
Going back in time :) I remember first hearing Memory on the Johnny Carson show. I'd never heard of Cats, but had watched the damn show Eight is Enough. gah
More confessions---I really didn't know who Elaine Paige was until Susan Boyle said her name. :noob:
More Memory stuff!
Am I the only late night music nerd right now? :p
Somehow youtube directed me to Uriah Heep. While I remember that too, I thought this was better:
:D
Heh - how funny. Cats was actually the first musical I saw on Broadway - although the first musical I ever saw was a touring company of Annie.
Meanwhile, the most memorable experience was Les Mis in London. It wasn't even the only show I saw there that summer, but it was absolutely my favorite, and nothing I have seen since then has come even close.
Our community theatre also did that before I quit performing - and it was brutal. I don't see how the people who did it for months on end managed - that's dedication and skill I just don't have.
But meanwhile ...
Heh - I have wicked awesome acoustics in this room.
The man is a genius.
hey lolli, is it a coincidence that Sarah Jessica Parker sang on Broadway long before there was Sex in the City? ;)
Speaking of flutes..... and geniuses.....
