Scored 2 tickets to the new batman movie, from Mattel of all places :D
New computer (used of course), a c2q with 4 gigs of ram, a 500gb caviar black HD and my new 120 gb intel ssd and finally a gts 250 all lurking in a gigantic but surprisingly quiet antec sonata iii case. I am pleased. Also astonished by how fricking irritating it can be to install windows, this time because I wanted to created a 64-bit install USB from inside a 32-bit windows system. OH NOSE
Got another paper published. Nothing fancy, but one less thing to worry about from the ol' doctorate. ;)
The curious case of the HD that was visible in bios but invisible in windows has been solved, now I have 500 GB of storage space that I honestly don't know what to do with. Make it my default download disk? But it's so much slower... oh well, at least I'm getting my money's worth. Tried running ChromiumOS from a USB stick but that didn't work :o
Seriously I've had three Caviar Black's (sounds so...dirty!) fall apart on me, don't trust that piece of shit for anything worthwhile
Your money would be best spent on black caviar. :)
Holy crap Diablo 3 in normal mode is like a point-and-click interactive story once you activate God-mode :o I wonder how much of that advantage will carry over into Nightmare
God-mode? Playing a barbarian or monk?
Game doesn't get really difficult until Hell for ranged classes, or Inferno Act II for barbarian/monk.
Bejewelled monk :p flawless square gems (best value at the time) liberally socketed into dexterity-boosting rare equipment bought dirt-cheap. Approached 300 dps in my twenties and enjoyed constant and powerful healing (65/hit + passive/defensive skills) + AoE snares/attacks so I could just suck in the mobs and munch 'em up rather than chasing them. I can't decide if this was fun or boring; overall I think it was fun because it was much less of a grind and I'm still too new to this sorta entertainment to appreciate the hard work.
Too much magic-find boosting equipment though, frickin' nightmare for a packrat such as myself. Most of my money has gone towards storage
Anyway I was surprised and thrilled; I'm not usually one to invest in a game in this way and it's nice to be rewarded. I also liked getting good deals and I imagine I won't get to enjoy that aspect as much in the coming levels.
Of course that post was supposed to go in the game thread
Got one of these as a graduation gift:

Today we used it to make dough for delicious buns (cinnamon, hazelnut paste, vanilla custard) and just a little while ago I used it to grind leg-meat from chicken, mushrooms, onion and Swedish crisp-bread. Turned that into delicious burgers flavoured with blue cheese and herbs and now I can't stop thinking about food to grind down :o so yummy. Have to buy the pasta- and milling accessories.
So I've finally received my passport, two days ago.
OMG Sweden's TV-channel has made all eps of Zorro available online!!! The summer is SAVED!!
Snoring kitty sleeping a foot away from me. :)
Oh yeah? Snoring dog at my feet while I'm working. :) :)
I hope your partner doesn't mind being called that. :p
I don't do it when he's awake...duh :P

The Decoys are taking over the world!

Finally got a publication (after some minor changes). It's a co-authored piece though. :o
Congrats!
What's the impact factor of the journal :D
0.812 :o It's not a top-tier journal; let's put it like that. :o
Haha :D What kind of impact factors do 'big' poli-sci journals have? Do you have any tabloidy arenas?
The top journal gets about a 3.3. A few other general poli sci journals get about 2-2.5. The top sub-discipline journals (i.e. top in IR or a sub-field of IR) tend to get 1-1.5.
This is old issue of the journal in question: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...sue-1/issuetoc :o
