Do not worry. The last post was not for you. It was for Timmy.
I did not want to double post.
<O>^<O> Was banned?
Damn.
He thinks that banning people he will get rid of us. He could not be more wrong.
He made a mistake and he will deal with the consequences of his own actions.
He is causing harm to the company, and when you hurt a company, company uses to react in a harsh manner.
"This situation was more than clarified (several times in fact with proper causation and correlation) and I'm not restating anything of the sort further." :bulb:
I have the feeling that when the company discovers what he is doing, some people may be banned, some others fired and the whole thing escalated internally inside the company.
My "Kathaksung crystal ball" tells me that.
I doubt it. He may lose moderator status if, for some reason, some random person (Phoxe?) decides to care. But I think it just as likely that the CC will be either completely closed down or just ignored so long as the new rules are adhered to. Atari doesn't care, and it has no reason to care.
If Atari cared about the random political discussions in ACC, then I think it will care about getting flamed up to its eyes in the same place. They replaced politics with open hatred of Atari. I'm not quite sure how that's an improvement in their eyes.
I'm convinced that Atari didn't care. The new admin did, but his bosses didn't give a shit. If they actually cared, it wouldn't have taken them nearly a decade and, what, a dozen admins? to close the thing down.
It was curiously timed with their release of the Star Trek MMO however, while I wouldn't go so far as Atari not caring, I would say that Phoxe (and now Timmeh) are taking their directives far more literally and enforcing with more zeal than corporate would have cared, and are mainly doing so for personal reasons.
Aww, looks like someone has emotional investment and got hurt for itQuote:

*goosesteps*
He is managing the forums to feed his need of feeling powerful.
Departure of members/customers is not going to help the company.
Timmy is a troll/flamebaiter/spammer in charge of moderation.
Rules? What rules?
AFAIK he uses the argument of rules to state "I am the rules".
He plays a psychological game called "The Drama Triangle"
Such psychotic game hardly helps a company to make MONEY.
But if you see it from a different perspective, Atari is sacrificing itself, its profits and jobs, taking all Timmy's time, so Timmy does not annoy anyone else on planet Earth. Social responsibility?
And Timmy tells us "unite against Timmy", which helps our community.
True. To think Phoxe handled the moderation better than T2035 boggles the mind but it's true. Phoxe fucked off after a while and just when we had no one to rag against, untill the Stalwart Superhero Hero of Atari shows up, paints a big target on himself and goes: "Lets get along! *irritating smilies*".
Rodeo Clown.
I don't have a problem with it. I just think its weird. Not that that puts you out of place with this crowd.
He got rid of me and didn't have to ban or anything. I was happy to go. Adios!
I totally agree.
I'm very surprised they didn't just close the forum. Lock the door, shut out the lights, and hang up a sign saying "sorry folks, but we don't host this sort of discussion anymore."
That is what they should have done, and still should do. The ACC is a joke, nothing constructive is happening at the moment. Time allows his own thread about turning comics into films or whatever, yet closes a thread based on trains. His logic - it's spam. Plus, apparently, you are not allowed to complain anymore.
As near as I can tell, he's reached the conclusion (not without help from us) that anything posted by former members of CC is intended to harass him or go against the new rules, so he's just going to close any and all threads from us when he sees them. And actually, any discussion which he is not steering/in direct control of is going to get derailed by us somehow, since going "off-topic" as he defines thread-drift is now apparently grounds for closure as well. Which is why, if/when an admin actually looks into what he's doing, he's probably going to get demodded. But I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
Wait, you can go off-topic in an off-topic forum?
If Timmy is in charge of it, apparently. One notes he insists that almost any, if not all, of the topics discussed in this particular subforum would be welcomed and not in the least against the rules over there, but any of these discussions, if over there, would have been closed by him. Going off-topic, abusive behavior, spammy, too large, complaining. . .
In the off topic forum, off topicness is about supporting changing Timmy's views.
Anything else is derailed off-topicness whichi is not acceptable.
AtariCC should be renamed as "support Timmy's forum"
It's content could be reduced to:
"Godzilla is better than Mechagodzilla, 0 is better than 1, tea is better than coffee, we love Timmy, the master of the universe, wow I like Godzilla!!".
But of course, since the master of the universe is He-Man, he could argue that HeMan is indecent because he looks sexually indecent, and you may get infraction points.
I seriously doubt anyone at Atari cares what happens in that forum so long as no one is posting controversial topics that might embarrass the company. As long as Phoxe/Timmy is stepping on that sort of thing, why would they care what he does? It isn't like our experience there is somehow going to affect Atari sales. If they came out with a really awesome 4x space game - like an awesome Moo4 -who even among us, those directly aggrieved, that is a fan of that genre and/or dynasty, wouldn't buy it?
I'd pirate it, no matter who published it
