I get "your customized value" right above every post by someone on my ignore list. This has been happening for a few weeks now. Any idea what's causing it? I use Firefox.
You use the default style? How have your eyes not burned out?
Should be fixed.
Yep, fixed now. Thanks.
Is it possible to display search results as posts instead of threads?
Its one of the advanced search options, under the search single content type tab
That is NOT the result I get. And the entries under search single type are for where it searches, not how it displays the result of searches. There is no option anywhere in the advanced search screen I get that will let me choose to display the results of a search as posts.
Would it be possible that the quick reply box doesn't change URLs into links until you post? Now, when I post a picture, i type the image tag, past the URL, and it turns into a link so the picture won't work unless you remove the link by hand first..
I'm not seeing it :(
edit: Oh crap ... hang on.
edit: Ok, my problem was the way tabs are displayed. It looks like the default is the 'search single content type' tab, but it isn't. It's default on multiple. So I thought I was in search single content type when I wasn't.
If I arrive here through http://theworldforgotten.com (without the www in front) I first see the regular homepage, then a screen with "invalid redirect url" for a second and then a blank screen.
Happens only when using the "most visited" feature of chrome ;)
edit: For some weird reason, it does not happen anymore.
I'm still getting the invalid redirect URL when I login.
That sort of thing should work now.
I just got a submission error after submitting a post, and it didn't eat my post! Thank you!
Its a book thumbnail posted by yourself :p

That's fantastic.
Okay, this next one is one of those things that could just as well be my browser settings, or whatever, but I'll ask anyway since it's happened on multiple PCs:
If I try to navigate in the text editor in the quick reply box with my arrow keys, it doesn't move the typing cursor thingy, and I'm not exactly sure what it is trying to do. The up and down keys scroll my browser window, but don't de-activate the typey cursor, and the left & right arrow keys de-activate the typing cursor thingy (I'm assuming they're navigating the active bit of my window somewhere, but I can't tell where) and don't produce any visible results.
This is mildly irritating and I'd appreciate any input and/or advice anyone'd have on fixing this. Or, if it's a forum software thingy, could someone point me in the direction of the menu where I can turn it off. Thanks in advance.
Same here. Never noticed it before.
A very similar things happens on my smartphone from time, and I always assumed I was just grabbing the "wrong" part of the scree and putting the browser or text input screen-keyboard into a weird mode... haven't look into fixing it too hard, since it's been easier to just lock and unlock the touch screen to make that go away. Next time I'll look a bit harder to see what's up.
I'm not personally seeing it (as I use the white background, black text theme) but it seems that when I'm copying/pasting quotes from other sites like the BBC etc then the text is being copied in black format. Messing up how other people are seeing it.
Any way of disabling this copying/pasting of font as well as text? I'm guessing its a recent update that's caused this as it's not come up as an issue before.
Dumb fix is to copy-paste into Notepad, then copy-paste from Notepad to forum.
There's a button at the top of the edit box, second from the left, two A's with a red X, it removes all formatting. Ctrl+A, click that button = no colors.
It hasn't always worked, but YMMV
Problem is remembering to press that button. Its not visibly obvious that any formatting has been copied across in the first place, given that it just looks like normal text to me. I don't think its common at all to deliberately want to copy the font, in fact given the plethora of colour schemes I can't think of any reason to deliberately want to font colour across given that it will always screw up somebodies reading.
The only font I can imagine that people want to copy across is things like bold/italics and hyperlinks. I don't think its common at all or ever to deliberately want to copy the font colour, so is there any way to make pasting text as text not text+formatting of colour?
YMMV?
Which browser do you use?
I've just switched from Firefox to Google Chrome. Not sure how long the paste problems have been happening but it might coincide - Fuzzy, you were one to point it out I believe? I'm guessing its not been a common thing before now?
Yes using WYSIWYG quick reply 99% of the time.
How come we got rid of the post preview on the main page? I liked it :(
If its not coming back, can we redo the news links? That column it uses just seems so bare now.
Illusions is correct. I liked it too, so I'll put it back if I can once I get some actual time to look into things. Eventually.
Wraith I'm guessing its linked to Google Chrome since you asked about browser and it seems to be just since then, but just copied and pasted a quote from somebodies post earlier in the thread (rather than another site) into the quick reply box and the same thing happened again. Font getting copied with text.
Is there anything that can be done about this? I don't think anyone deliberately copies fonts so can the feature get changed to pasting simply results in text as default?
Does anyone else use Chrome? Anyone else had similar things or have a browser-side fix (aside from not hitting Ctrl+V to paste as I've been doing that for 20 years and won't remember to hit a button etc, especially since the text just looks normal to me).
I use chrome at home on my netbook and notebook. I don't have the coloring issue like you do, but my account is also set to use the Standard Editor by default.
