Feeling exhausted like never before.
New role as a manager of Regulatory Affairs in Financial Crime and Compliance (FCC), back at the global bank I worked for 11 years for previously. I was drafted in to replace a contractor who had undertaken the role for two and a half years. He is quite the most diligent, intelligent and hard-working colleague I've ever had the pleasure of working with - truly goes above and beyond the demands of the position. Today is his last day, and I have been under increasing strain to take on his considerable workload. The expectations of me once he has gone will be daunting.
FCC is under huge pressure from the regulators too, as with all banks, so the global team is very hard-pressed to deliver.
This coupled with a move into our new house has been hard. The house resemebles a building-site at present, with windows being replaced throughout, a new kitchen being put in, decorators, plumbers, electricians etc etc. I can't go home and relax and put my feet up at the end of a hard day, no relaxation and time out at all. We can't even cook properly without a kitchen so have been eating take-out most nights. Not sleeping either.
Soooo all sums up to being a very tired and rather stressed and exhausted me.
