Holy fuck, 12,3 million viewers in Holland for the semi-final against Uruguay. On a population of 17 million.
After tonight's match I don't really think Spain can't be beaten, I was less than impressed by the way they used their chances.

World cup fever baby.
One more to go. So close.
I'm already nervous.
I'm not so nervous, the only thing I am affraid of is that our side starts thinking they've already won by being in the final. Other than that I am feeling quite confident that they can take Spain. I just thought I should ask my sister to come over to watch the final together; we did see the 1974 and 1978 matches together too as children. :D
I am seriously bummed that I have to go to work at 11 PM on sunday night.
FUCK.
Forlan liked the ball :)
WOW, I couldn't believe how flat Germany looked. It's like they won only 10% of 50/50 balls in the midfield, and kept making unforced turnovers. Spain was good, but certainly didn't force a lot of those. Hard to believe that was the same German team who beat Argentina.
I still think the Dutch are going to clinch it in the final, i'm going to stick with my initial predictions as i don't think Spain looked as good as what people are saying.
Van Bommel and De Jong will be the spanner in the works.
I think with Spain you know who the play makers are and who you need to shut down to win the mini battles: Xavi, Alonso and Iniesta. The final should be a good game and i hope it is but i do want the dutchies to win .... even if i didn't bet on them like i said as i forgot!
Speaking of Spain, looks like Barcelona are in a spot of bother: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/8797183.stm
Get your own house in order before you start trying to disrupt someone else's (Re: Tapping up Cesc Fabregas). Oh and while we are on the topic, where are you Platini? I thought you have a thing or two to say about these financial matters in football?
FIFA/UEFA = Inconsistent as per usual.
Goal-line technology is back on the agenda after Fifa revealed this World Cup is set to be the last tournament under the existing refereeing system.
Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke told the BBC that TV replays showing Frank Lampard scoring a goal against Germany was a "bad day" for organisers.
And Valcke suggested changes will be made before the 2014 World Cup.
"We're talking about a goal not seen by the referee which is why we are talking about new technology," said Valcke.
Fighting against the Spanish is always justified.
Technology works in Cricket and Rugby and other sports without diminishing the stature of the umpire/referee. So long as their decision is still final, there's no reason why their decision can't be to refer it to the cameras.
Which isn't even in the Spanish anthem.
Spoiler:
Ok, this wait is killing me. Can it please be sunday 20.30 ?
Sloppy consolation win for Germany. Sweet Forlan goal though.
Went for a walk around town just now. Felt I was the only one not wearing orange. The atmosphere is really nice, like a giant rock concert. I'd say that there are at least 40.000 people at the Museumplein already. And the match won't start untill 20.30.
Got the library plasmas all set up. Will be interesting how many people stop by to watch a bit of it, even got to pass it off as a program for my evaluation.
One hour to go.
You're so funny and impatient.
You would understand if you were in Amsterdam right now. There are thousands upon thousands of people who came here to watch the final on big screens. My personal estimate is that about 100 meters away from my home there is a crowd of around 2000 people. And that's nothing to the masses you can see at the museumplein.
