GGT, so wouldn't that reverse the exodus from urban living, and suburban sprawl?
I think the mileage tax, if started out low, wouldn't be more for hybrids. They aren't buying as much gas, so it is made up by the mileage tax. Why did people buy these cars? To avoid buying gas, or to help reduce emissions. They will still save money on gas, because they aren't buying as much, but the tax will be evened out. Why shouldn't they be paying the same tax as a gas car? They still use the road.
