Good luck Timbo!
Good luck, shame it's being harder to find a new job than expected.
Manage the morning to night PJ attire yet?
'S perfectly fine. I've only really been applying to jobs I'd want to do, at the salary I'd like, rather than the jobs I can do, for any salary. With my redundancy package I can still afford to be picky.
Downscale? Well sorta. Since my apartment has been rented out to tenants my mortgage is covered, and I live in my gf's apartment to whom I pay nominal rent. If it came to it we'd stop the rent. Then my only outgoings are food and half the bills. No worries.
Thanks people! :)
Interview was relatively short and informal compared to what I was expecting. Senior manager conducting the interview said he liked my answers, thought my experience was a perfect fit, and would be putting me forward for a Partner interview, which is the next (and final) stage. So all good :)
Firm is one of the global big four audit, accountancy and professional services firms. Role would be as a manager running a team of consultants at clients around the country on projects, in the sphere of credit risk data analytics. So lots of travel and time away from home which doesn't float my boat really, but it'd be interesting, and fantastic for my career, so if the Partner interviewing me for the next stage likes me and takes me on I'll jump at it.
Heh. Since I sleep in the buff I gotta wear dem clothes during the day.
I've never played so many games, read so many books, nor bummed around on the internet as much in my adult life as I have in the past three months tho. Thank buggery not slipped down the slope to daytime tv *shudders*
Good to hear that went well!
Eurgh, sorry to read this thread, Tim. I've been through "that day" as well. I was lucky enough not to be one of the unlucky ones, but I've seen friends go through it and I really sympathise.
Make the most of the bumming around time. I've no doubt you'll find something soon. Best of luck!
How'd it go with the Partner?
Interview is on monday lunchtime.
Trying not to, but am getting my hopes high. There is so little recruitment going on here. Most banks and financial institutions have a freeze going on.
If this falls through it could well be another 3-4 months before any other firms interview ... :/
Try having a little faith, man!
All this is is a reminder; a chance to remind yourself who you really are. You can take that with you into your next job.
There will be a next job. What happens until then is not wasted time.
(Spoken from experience). :)
