Tangent: my son is taking PSSA tests this week. Since their scores are tied to funding....the teachers have been conducting "refresher" cram courses. Sort of like what they do every new school year, to bring students back from their summer malaise. Trying to "refresh" their memories on basic Biology and Math from 9th grade.
To top it off, they've attached individual scores to Junior and Senior "privileges", like leaving campus for lunch, parking lot permits, and early release for part-time jobs. Even students on Dean's List, National Honor Society, or Scholar Athletes can have those "privileges" revoked if they don't perform well on the state tests. That is simply stupid and counterproductive. :sour:
