I know you think we're all idiots here, but the Second Amnedment says nothing about gun control.

Bad science? This is how it works, you try to take two groups that are as similar as possible and then isolate the portion that is changing. IE if you want to run an experiment on the best type of fertilizer you use the SAME plant. Not a plant in America and some random plant in China. So try to find similar cities of size. View their gun laws and determine which city is safer. Granted there will be a lot of variables in the real world but it is certainly FAR FAR more appropriate than comparing it to gun crime rates on another continent.
What's really scary about this is that you're a Home Schooler, teaching this distorted version of "science" -- and constitutional interpretation -- to your kids.
What happens if you try to buy explosives or a nuclear weapon? Or try to carry a loaded gun through airport screening? No right is absolute. Or you'd be able to shout fire in a crowded theater. You already accept that considering how you think many of the rights of defendants are mere recommendations.

"CBS) WINNSBORO, La. - Sharmeka Moffitt, a 20-year-old Louisiana woman who claimed three men set her on fire and wrote the initials KKK and a racial slur on her car, fabricated the attack, authorities said Tuesday. Police believe her third-degree burns were self-inflicted, CBS affiliate KSLA reported.
Moffitt called 911 Sunday evening from a walking trail in Winnsboro and told authorities she was doused in flammable liquid by three men wearing white hoodies. She suffered extensive burns on more than half her body and was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport for treatment.
After two days of investigation, authorities said evidence showed that she set herself on fire, KSLA reported. Winnsboro Police Chief Lester Thomas said Tuesday afternoon that authorities linked Moffitt's fingerprints to a lighter and a bottle of lighter fluid found at the scene.
"The investigation...has revealed that this was not an attack but a self-inflicted incident that happened to her," Thomas said in a news conference."

"When detectives confronted her with the evidence, she slashed her wrists and was hospitalized. A week later, she penned a handwritten note, confessing that the incidents had been staged, and admitting that she didn't have cancer or need a wheelchair.
The news stunned her supporters. "You don't know, 'til you've met someone like this, how bizarre it is," one friend recently told WW, recalling how Azalea shaved her arms and dyed her eyebrows to simulate the effects of chemotherapy, and earned extra fem cred by claiming that her cancer was being treated with black-market RU-486. "That woman's agony was real. She was really lonely--in some deeper sense than just not having friends."
Twelve years later, it remains unclear why Azalea faked the attacks. But the reason she got away with it for so long is painfully obvious. At some level, we wanted to believe her. Her story seemed to confirm a dark, paranoid vision about the forces of hate running loose in America--an anti-fantasy that gave us permission to distill our shock and empathy into a jolt of pure rage.
Indeed, America was so hungry for victims in the early '90s that some activists continued to champion Azalea's case even after she admitted making the whole thing up."
2012 and... 2004 :haha:
Please, continue to dig into history and racism. You'll have a blast with what you find
Why should you? Did you hear every bullshit story from 2004? Want people to go digging through the archives of 2004 to see if you had heard it?

I expect Shaun King and his social media army will once again have to do a great deal of the police's job of tracking down violent white supremacists.

But Loki that's a black person and a woman to boot, we can't trust her without video evidence and signed affidavits.

And as this thread very much delivers that there are hoaxes... where is the proof this happened? She's a self-proclaimed racist in the very tweet she complains about racism! Imagine someone gets mugged by a black guy and then goes onto twitter to say "black people are trash." Yeah not gonna fly, but this shit does? Pretty pathetic example.

Really not enough information to go on. Does the manager have a tendency to specifically target people on racial grounds inappropriately? What is their % of being right when attempting to prevent shoplifting? People always get incredibly bent out of shape when an innocent person is accused however shoplifting is a massive problem. People have DIED because of shoplifting incidents. It really seems that Staples is playing the PR game here as opposed to giving the employee a fair shake.

50 fucking billion dollars. And to be honest I'd rather spend twice as much preventing it because people who shoplift are filthy parasites that bring society down. Police almost never expend resources dealing with shoplifters unless loss prevention apprehends the person for them. In this case the police officer felt there was enough probable cause to ask the woman to show her pregnancy.
"Felt"
Ignoring how incomprehensibly dumb and ignorant the rest of your post is, these two statements are verifiably false. 1) Police departments do follow up on theft, even on low cost items, without the store stopping the person. In fact it happens so much that people get upset concerning how much police time WalMart uses because of the police following up on theft cases and how those cases end in settlements rather than charges. 2) This officer was working for the store, that's OT and they are very much subject to the commands of the management. If management wants someone stopped and questioned that person is stopped. The officer's opinion and what he knows of the scenario is irrelevant. That's how his authority in these security gigs work. The management could have asked for a trespass just cause and the officer would have had to follow through. If officers don't follow management they lose their OT gigs and that's a big deal for a lot of them.

Like shooting a homeless man for stealing toothpaste? :picard:
My sister stole some nail polish and panty hose when she was a teenager, with more than enough cash in her purse to pay for it. The store's security guard called the police and our parents, and the situation was "resolved" in the manager's office: no official charges, no police record. She was allowed to pay for the items and go home, with a severe scolding and a promise from our parents that she'd be "grounded" for a month or something.Quote:
....people who shoplift are filthy parasites that bring society down....
Sure, shoplifting is a problem for all retailers, but not all shoplifters or "product loss" are treated equally. In my sister's case, she was a cute white girl from the suburbs, with parents that could drop everything and rush to the store. If she'd been black or brown, with parents that couldn't be reached or couldn't leave work, it would have ended differently. That was over 40 years ago, but not much has changed. Hello?
What type of fucked up stalking does lewk partake in that he knows when people in his social circle have run ins with the police?
Oh yes, shoplifting on your record prevents you from getting any job anywhere. Please.
You have fuckers who literally get DUIs and kill people and play for the NFL. Obviously not everyone can get a NFL job but there are plenty of people with petty crimes on their record (ie not felonies) that find jobs. Hell people with felon records get jobs. With the Trump economy unemployment is really low.
Labor force participation rate was recently the lowest it's been since the 70s.
Are you being serious Lewk? Obviously the above applies less to a handful of industries where talent is easily measurable and generates a huge amount of money. It also doesn't apply to people whose daddy is a CEO and can order HR to ignore its normal practices. But for a vast majority of jobs, a felony is a death sentence. A shoplifting conviction would make it difficult to even get a fast food job.
