Please list the last time the US supported a coup d'etat against a democratic leader. Then tell me when was the last time the Swiss allowed a dictator to hide money in their banks.
Um, the Swiss have as close to a direct democracy as the world has right now. So yes, it is the people's fault that the government is behaving in the way that it is. Interesting that attacking the Swiss foreign policy is racist, while attacking the US foreign policy is being open-minded. You don't let up with your hypocrisy, do you?

This is going to be a fun game.
On a moral view, I agree with you. But this is just a legal case. And it seem the US legal system has fucked this up twice. I personally would like to see him in jail.Quote:
Minx, you're still implying that the only thing wrong about this case is that Polanski had sex with an underage girl. :bored: He didn't just have sex with her: he drugged and raped her. Those would be crimes even if she was 18. Why do you continue playing down the severity of the crime?
:bored: So I can't attack someone for consistently supporting highly unethical policies that don't even improve their country's security?
Your government more or less admitted that they were looking for any excuse to not extradite. So again, please tell me why it's in Switzerland's national interest to not extradite the guy. As for the photo, the only reason Switzerland isn't doing the same is because it's surrounded by stronger states.
Loki has definitely stepped up his game when it comes to troll derails. This has been much more successful than when he blew a gasket in the World Cup thread. We have Nazis, selective truth and fact checking, completely ignoring aspects of the Polanski case, and it appears he has plenty more waiting to drop.

In before his usual 1 line zing response.
Shouldn't you be robbing the taxpayer dry or something?
I wrote that already.
No.Quote:

Let's have some fun, this game is sick.
I missed that. :noob:
That is actually kind of a departure for you Lewk, isn't it? I mean, if we're going to have a prison, why should we tolerate such perverse crimes in prison?
FFS, what is wrong with you dude? Did you even read my posts? Or Loki's?
I'm not the only one noticing your reflexive opposition to anything I say, but now you just skim my posts, ignore the content and give me the finger?
I think OG, Tear and Icky are triplets. :)
As far as Polanski is concerned - meh. It was a heinous thing to do, but it was also a long ass time ago. Dredging all this up again can't possibly have been in the victim's best interests, and it isn't exactly righting a horrible wrong for society at this point.
Let the Swiss keep him. :)
Fuck off Dread. Bitching about how you think I'm not reading the thread, and you've already shown you couldn't even finish the first post, much less the rest of the replies.
Except everyone agrees that he did drug her. And arguably, plying a 13 year old girl with alcohol is the same as drugging. It's not part of the indictment, but it is generally agreed-upon.
By saying "goes for Loki and Dread's bullshit too", you were clearly just dismissing all of our posts without even reading them. You're becoming very irritable and excitable, but I'm not sure why.
Everyone is an absolute you should not be using, as it does not belong in this discussion.
Everyone agreeing doesn't mean jack shit either Dread, and you know it. Do we really need counter examples for that? I could start with The Green Mile since you love my movie references.
Now considering my entire post only talked about how there was and still is no guilt about drugs, an intelligent reader would assume I was addressing the drug claims that you and Loki both previously claimed.
Dread, Lewk, and Loki all assigning guilt without trial, how awesome and totally not surprising.
You're becoming very irritable and excitable, but I'm not sure why.
In a sense, OG is repeating himself in lots of threads. :o
How is it a departure for Lewk? He favors a de facto death penalty for everything from mass murder to music piracy to jaywalking. You can only do bad things to people who are completely innocent of wrongdoing. Anyone who has committed the slightest bad deed in their lives deserves all the tribulations of Job and more.
I've noticed a pattern of someone other than a left-winger saying something and then getting swarmed by half a dozen left-wingers, regardless of what is actually said. They don't even bother reading anymore. Any chance to attack someone who doesn't share their ideology is taken, even if the attack contradicts their own previous statements.
I had it happen to me in the last half dozen threads, and I've seen the same done to Dread (and Lewk, but the leftists here have always attacked Lewk when given a chance). Minx, Khen, OG, Tear, GGT and to a lesser extent Steely, have been all over anyone who says anything that's not consistent with their leftist beliefs. They now moved on to attacking anyone who doesn't hold those beliefs even on threads that have little to do with politics/economics.
I don't consider myself a "leftist" in general, but progressive on social issues. Yet you attack me in most any thread I post in, Loki. Especially if you think I ramble off-topic. Well, it looks like you went wayyy off track with a Nazi reference here.
If I would start to argue about his post, no. But it's not like I actually would respond to his arguments, that would be absolutely nonsense as he is so far off in his anti-Swiss rage. My approach is more dadaistic, and we are good at Dada, we invented the shit.
He probably already left the country.
Considering that Sarkozy backed off from his support of Polanski after he realized how unpopular his position is, you'll have to provide a more convincing "national interest" argument, assuming you can make a post that doesn't involve nationalistic vitriol. And considering that your country is still living off the money stolen from others, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the "national interest" was an unwillingness to punish people who invest money in the Swiss economy.
No he didn't.Quote:

Polish director Roman Polanski’s family is thanking French President Nicolas Sarkozy for being “very effective” in helping to win his release from a Swiss prison.“I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it is thanks to the President that Roman has been freed, but he has been super,” Polanski’s sister-in-law,Mathilde Seigner, told Le Parisien newspaper. “The President has been very effective.”The London Times speculated that Sarkozy’s wife, ex-model Carla Bruni, may have pressured her husband to intervene because she used to hob nob with Paris’ artistic community, which includes Polanski and wife Emmanuelle Seigner

Oh you poor, poor thing. You so oppressed. :(
I've noticed it with Dread, as I've commented before, but you've brought anything thrown your way on yourself. You've been beyond obnoxious the last few months, and have been trying to contest Tear's title as the most belligerent jackass on the forum for several weeks.
Hmm, Loki, you don't see me jumping on Dread at every turn, do you? :o
Re. attacking people based on ideology, I'd like you to think hard about what happens when anyone expresses a view that can be construed as "leftist" or even "socialist", here on this forum. Think very very hard about the response they inevitably get from you.
I think it should be clear that we are not much more free to express our thoughts than you are. No wonder we can't have a harmonious coexistence of ideas :o
Attacking positions doesn't sound like anyone who strives for harmonious co-existence as we express ourselves. Sounds to me like wanting to be "right" at every turn, even if that means showing how "wrong" others are in minutia.
But what do I know, I can barely type while holding my skull to keep my idiot brains from falling out.....:donkey:
Not at all Dread. I at least try to keep to the thread subject. However everytime your position is challenged you respond with the same basic rhetoric. Whats eating you, you're attacking me, its your fault. You take your position personally, and when its questioned how you arrived at a certain decision, or from what source, your logic goes out the window and you resort to insults. This is stupid, you're acting like a moron, grow up past video games and movies. You start projecting.
It used to be Loki who would most commonly spew baseless information without source, but lately he has given up on debate and stuck with trolling.
Dude, OG, I dunno what's going on but if you were to take your exchanges with Dread for the past few weeks or months and read them as a neutral observer you'd feel differently. It may help if you replace your names with, I dunno, "Fuzzy" and "Minx" or something.
I'm not trying to put one over on you, it's for reals. It's beginning to feel like Dr. Cox vs. Forrest Gump
Your piece is about Polanski being allowed to post bail. :bored:

For someone who's physically and mentally incapable of participating in a controversial thread without insulting people, you really shouldn't be talking.
Fair enough. Easy way to fix that.
