Will keeper of the gates of wisdom
please let me in?
'cuz I just can't go through this heart ache again
Pretty lies and alibies, how could I be so blind?
Now all alone and scared I stand
slowly going out of my mind.
He was my strongest weakness
and I surrendered heart and soul.
It's gonna be a long, long time
'til I regain control.
I'm still a prisoner captured by his memory.
He was my strongest weakness,
and I'm afraid he'll always be.
I gave my faithful heart to someone
who couldn't understand
that he held my little world
in the palm of his hand.
Now he's gone and life goes on
so with this pain will ever end?
Will I be afraid to risk it all
and ever fall in love again?
crap, now I'm gonna cry myself to sleep.

We must keep this thread alive and not fading off the main page!
One of the best parts----
On the page it looked, nothing.....A single note, hanging there, unwavering.....until a clarinet took it over, and sweetened it into a phrase of such delight...
A music I'd never heard, filled with such longing, such unfulfillable longing.

....Second beat of the first measure, on A....second measure second beat.....D sharp (of course)...second beat of the third measure on E....rest.
Now the tenors, fourth beat of the first measure, on C. Second measure 4th beat, D. Second beat of the 4th measure on F. Now the orchestra.......
:) Identical notes and rhythym. The instrumtents doubling the voices....
It's already in his head. A symphony in his mind, just waiting to be put on paper and taken to voice and instruments.

The new Grönemeyer song, Schiffsverkehr:
entfalte Meine Hand
Die Anker Los
Denn Auch Jedes Tief Dreht Sich Ins Hoch
Fall Auf Meinen Fuß
Die Feuer Sind Gesetzt
Und Die Nebel Leuchten
Weg Mit Dem Fixen Problem
Ich Will Mehr
Schiffsverkehr
Endlich Auf Hohe See
Endlich Auf Hohe See
Werde, Wer Ich Bin
Gute Fahrt
Die Dämonen Sind Versenkt
Aufgeklart
Es Gibt Kein Damals Mehr
Es Gibt Nur Ein Jetzt, Ein Nach Vorher
Weg Mit Dem Fixen Problem
Ich Will Mehr
Schiffsverkehr
Endlich Auf Hohe See
Stell Mich Vor
Das Leere Tor
Ich Schlag Mich Fein
In Seide Ein
Geb Mir Ewigen Schnee
Pures Gold, Wohin Ich Seh
Und Leb Mich Voran
Und Leb Mich Voran
Und Ich Verliere Mich In Mir
Brauch Meinen Tag
Kein Schicksalsschlag
Das Salz In Mir
Die Vorfahrt
Radikalkur
Klare Natur
überholspur
Kein Radar
Den Abendstern
Endlich Freie Sicht
Die Segel Sind Gefüllt
Und Keine Liebe Bricht Mich
Weg Mit Dem Fixen Problem
Ich Will Mehr
Schiffsverkehr
Endlich Auf Hohe See
Dreh Mein Herz
Dann Schlägt Es Leicht
Im Paradies Sind Plätze Frei
Geb Mir Ewigen Schnee
Pures Gold, Wohin Ich Seh
Und Leb Mich Voran
Und Leb Mich Voran
Und Ich Verliere Mich In Mir

Tim, you also inspired me to think about how I "found" different music over the years. It's hard to reconstruct, of course, from times before youtube or even headphones in Border's....but Spandau Ballet led to Barefoot Ballet (intro to John Klemmer). Pop and dance, jazz and piano. When I was little, I loved the Charlie Brown music.
Vince Guaraldi led to Dave Grusin and others like Dave Brubeck, Lee Rittenour and Earl Klugh. Eventually coming full circle to George Benson, who was already popular at the time, and Al Jarreau. I used to read the album covers and try to find music from background singers or piano players that got printed credits. I found Karla Bonoff from reading James Taylor credits. Totally different types of music, but all enjoyable. Back then I spent a lot of money on "unknown" artists, but it usually paid in the end. It didn't cost much to buy a cassette or even a vinyl.....back then that's all we had anyway. :noob:
Speaking of George Benson! I musta burned through a few needles listening to this man:
