Isn't that the same engine that Codemasters used in GRID?
Not complaining, it's a great engine, but I would have thought they would have a new one by now.
Lor talking about Alan Wake and story-focused games reminded me to mention that I just bought Fragile Dreams on Wii.
At last! :D
Rome: Total War, long time since I played any RTS, picked it and the expansion up for $15. :)
Finally got around to finishing Assassin's Creed 1. Did I miss something? Is there an explanation for the blood writing on the walls ending that doesn't spoil Assassin's Creed 2?
Minecraft now lets you get dye, and use it to dye sheep different colors.
GOTY.
Battle for Wesnoth. It's entertaining for its price.
Played one of the main campaigns a few years ago. Can't beat the price, yeah.
Playing AC2. AC2 came out 2 years after AC1, and I'm starting to understand why. This isn't a game that you just jump from part 1 to part 2. They thus far feel extremely disconnected from each other, with AC1 references sorta shoe-horned in. AC2 also has a lot of crap AC1 didn't have, I just unlocked the part where I have to maintain bank deposits and my uncles castle/town/wall city
Desmond is supposed to be the connection, but he's so rarely used during 1 & 2 that yeah, it feels kind of vague.
It starts to come together in Brotherhood when he gets a lot more development, you'll play as him and he'll be in the story a lot more.
Yeah, there's a lot more to do in the second one (and a lot more again in Brotherhood).
Although you'll find you have more money than you know what to do with in 2 (a flaw fixed in Brotherhood), so you won't have to be terribly vigilant with the banking.
If they'd come out with a droid version, I'd get that.
Giving Elemental another shot. It's improved from last time, but still not that stellar.
Now AC2 has me jumping around roofs looking for little statues. Game sure does have a lot of fluff as filler.
DNF was announced today for May 3rd. Vaporware King is about to come home.:jumpclap::jam::cheerleader::cheers:: cheerleader2::flail:
I posted at a forum I hadn't posted a few years recently and had as my sig "If Windows Vista gets delayed any longer they should offer to package it with DNF" ;)
meh, not a fan of the possible box art
I liked 2007 duke better.

Did
You see the cover art for the last proper Duke?
If you're waiting for a Casino Royale here, I'm sure Romero'd love your business
I have little hope about DNF being any good but it's brings back so many good memories I have to get it.
Mass Effect 2 finally on it's way from Amamamazonzonzonz
Dead Space 2 getting some good early reviews..cool :)
The DNF trailer looked kind of crap IMO.
Bulletstorm looks much better.
Just received from Play today Blood Bowl - Legendary Edition :D
worldwide association of killers, and I take my orders from a fucking pigeon coop. :weird:
My lastest update in Assassin's Creed 2.
We're about to finish New Super Mario Wii.
It became bedtime before we finished, though.
Bowser or the Star Worlds?
Bowser.
We'll have to go back and collect a lot of star coins.
We keep dying in approximately the same spot, but I'm sure we'll defeat it tomorrow. Or they will, just depends.
I'm not entirely sure I like the cooperative play thing, though. There have been multiple times when we've pushed each other off into pits or into enemies.
Some people are just plain weird. So, yesterday saw my Paladin Tank running through one dungeon. Since no one of my guild was online, I used the random dungeon finder and ended up in another guild group, meaning the three damage dealers and the healer were from the same guild.
Bad experiences with such setups nonwithstanding, I set out to do my job. And I did it flawlessly, despite the attempts of a certain warrior class to botch it.
First piece of evidence: Ignoring the big skull over one enemy, instead electing a completely innocent bystander as his main target. Well, I simply let him play with that one.
Second piece: Some of the mobs kick you back upon dying - quite a distance, to boot. The warrior positioned himself thusly that he landed directly in the next group of enemies while we were still dealing with the first group.
Third piece: After this bit of shenanigans, our healer was a bit low on mana and I elected to let him have some cake... err, water. The warrior decided that mana was overrated and charged into the next group. I calmly watched him die, then roped in all the free-roaming enemies and proceeded to tank the shit out of them, a thing of beauty, I must say so.
Fourth and final piece: The healer, probably out of pity, wasted a precious in-fight resurrection on the warrior who then promptly decided to engage the enemy! The enemy on the other side of the bridge, that is. The ones I had not even thought of looking at yet, considering that I still had to contend with numerous foes on my side of the bridge.
Well, the rest of the damage dealers also decided that the grass over there was greener after all and ran after the warrior who spontaneously decided to fertilize the ground with his rotting corpse, him having charged in with only 10% of his healthpoints and whatnot.
Seeing this particular kind of trainwreck approaching like Sauron from Mount Doom going after the One Ring I simply posed the question: "What exactly is your major malfunction?"
I expected him to insult me for not being able to tank or maybe admit that he was lobotomized at age 4. Now that I think of it, he actually confessed to the latter by saying: "Shit healer!"
Ah, yes. I suddenly developed an overwhelming urge to wash my hair and left the group, wondering if that special guild would be lacking one member shortly...
Is this WoW?
Yes. In Germany we've taken to calling the random dungeon finder "Trottellotto" (i.e. Lottery of Morons) because of the sometimes very weird people who you're meeting there.
Ranging from the occasional "Must Bash Sheep!" warrior over the "Wait, I can banish demons?" warlock to the "What do you mean: 'Willpower is not a main stat for me'?" rogues. It seems that upon entering the finder the system rolls a four sided die which determines the amount of morons you get in your group.
PUGs are always filled with amateurs, and that lot you describe sound suitably hopeless Khen.
What's wrong with a bit of sheep bashing? ;)
