How sad for them.
They can always live forever in the mind of theirfollowersvictims.
Jobs has yet another Apple product presentation whoops...Quote:
The technical faux pas came during Jobs' keynote address at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, California.
At one point, Jobs turned toward the audience and seemed to ask a question of one of his technical directors: "Got any suggestions?" he asked.
"Verizon!" shouted an audience member, in reference to the fact that AT&T, the sole cellular network that carriers the Apple iPhone, gets notoriously bad reception in San Francisco. Many tech bloggers and writers have called for Apple to open the iPhone to other networks, including Verizon Wireless.
Ya, just saw that on cnet :haha:
That's what happens when you let a bunch of nerds in a room with wi-fi access; overwhelmed the system.
Tomorrow is election day! :D
My gardenia in full bloom and very fragrant. :D
TIL moment with my gmail account. I discovered that your email address isn't limited to only your screenname.
For example: a screenname of joeblow would usually mean joeblow@gmail.com
but what! theres more!
you also get to use joeblow+spam@gmail.com
and joeblow+facebook@gmail.com
basically you can use +whateverthefuckyouwant@gmail.com and it still goes to your email. This lets you setup filters easily, and track who is selling your account information.
At least until they come up with a way to automatically remove the +whatever
Was just pumpin iron at the gym! Feels soooo great to have your whole body shaking!!!
Went to Target today for diapers and managed to find not 1, but 2, Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt cars :D:up: and a single copy of Aliens vs Predator on clearance for $12.
Its a win day for me!
Usually don't anymore. Used to collect Hot Wheels religiously starting around 96, right before they started the grouped and numbered system they have now. Quickly ran out of storage room, then shelf space :( Around the time I graduated I sold a good bit of them. Still have a few hundred left packed and stored out of reach, but now I only pick up the hard to find ones, its a tic I'll likely never kick.
I think The Friend might be home sometime next week! :D
First post on my brand spanking new iMac with magic mouse. Was able to literally take it out of the box and plug it in, voila! :D
Also, school is finally out for the summer! :cheerleader:
Wow your schools let out late.
Yeah, we start late and go extra days beyond the state min. Had a few snow make-up days, too. Next year won't begin until 9/1.
Our school year was reduced by 5 days for next year. Also, they have a completely stupid schedule that will have a ridiculous number of week-long breaks.
Our district had a very large surplus. Some of that is the area, fiscally conservative and a throw-back from Penn/Dutch mentality of saving for a rainy day. Even so, our property taxes are going to rise, because the new elementary school is still under construction and over budget, and some state and federal funds are expected to be retracted, even with the Homestead Rebate.
:flail:
I need some Mojitos to continue being Happy.
This keyboard is.......smaller than expected. It felt fine in the store.
Ours had a 130 million deficit.
What they should be doing is increasing property taxes, and getting rid of the exemption for people over 62. . Dumbasses.Quote:

Yeah, raising taxes when tax intake is already low, and unemployment rates are ridiculously high is a great idea. It's also very fair for people who don't have school-age kids or aren't sending them to public schools. :bored:
Right, it's not fair to support society.
No, it's not fair to support the part of the society you like in the way you like.
HEY, this is the HAPPY thread!
Great day, good stuff.
Just now surprised by my older son coming home, wandering into the kitchen. Usually we're like ships passing in the night, but this time....seemed different. He wan't looking for food, toilet paper or laundry soap. He actually sought me out. Just to say good night.....and we talked a while.
Well, being a bit tipsy, I started in on the motherly "I love you so much....." He smiled big and said yes mom, I know that you love me no matter what.....and poured a glass of water. We stood there a while, at the kitchen sink, a bit awkward. He mostly listened while I went on about Love. I apologized for not articulating well, unless I had a few belts first, to be uninhibited. He smiled broadly and walked me back thru the hallway, in hushed tones because his little brother was sleeping.
He didn't have to, but he walked me into his room, where his pretty and nice girlfriend sat at his desk, looking at music downloads on the monitor. We looked at one another, with a sort of knowing look. We had some chit chat. I was surprised at first, since I thought I was just emoting to my son, unwitnessed in the kitchen. Once I realized she could hear the whole thing, and he knew it, it was quite beautiful.
We hugged. Then I closed the door.
I hope they spend the night in each other's arms, and wake up refreshed and feeling good. I hope my son treats her well, and special. I hope she knows she's special, because he brought her home.
