*tases*
Is there a source or something for this? I can't find it anywhere else, and nothing being reported on it...
In academic circles, this is what I'd cite as a "personal communication"

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The volunteer with Rand Paul's Republican U.S. Senate campaign who stepped on the head of a liberal activist and pinned her face to the concrete said Tuesday the scuffle was not as bad as it looked on video and blamed police for not intervening.
Archive Team has announced they will be releasing a GeoCities torrent soon. Roughly 1TB of the web's history. :bulb:
Who needs 250 gigs of rotating skull gifs?
I lol'd :(
Try 'em.
One day after the ban on Youtube was lifted in Turkey it was re-instated by another crazy judge in Ankara. This time because the previous leader of the opposition CHP; he was filmed after a sexual encounter with a woman who wasn't his wife. After the encounter, but before they got dressed again I should add.
Even the president has commented that these internet bans are just not right.
WTF? Where is Covington, Ga?Quote:
COVINGTON, Ga. — A 9-month-old baby was in critical condition after raccoons attacked her in her crib on Wednesday. Authorities were investigating whether the animals were being kept as pets, the Covington News reported.
The mother woke in the night to the sound of her daughter whimpering to find two raccoons in the crib biting the infant, Newton County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Tyrone Oliver told the newspaper. The woman threw the raccoons out and called for help, Oliver said.
When deputies arrived, the two raccoons were outside the home and one was shot when it acted aggressively, the newspaper reported. Both animals ran under a debris pile, and when they were dug out, one was dead. The other was sent to Atlanta, where it tested negative for rabies, Newton County Animal Control Director Teri Key-Hoosen told the newspaper.
The baby was in critical condition at a hospital with head injuries.
The raccoons gained entry by pushing aside panels of an air conditioning unit. If the raccoons were being kept as pets, charges could be pending against the parents, Oliver told the newspaper.
Thats where Brandy's dad lives...
Are there tons of raccoons there, as pets or breaking into A/C panels, or what the hell?
He has never mentioned a problem with them, and we never saw any.
I don't see why she is ruling out 2016...Quote:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is once again shooting down the idea she will run for president in 2012 or 2016.
While in New Zealand as part of a two-week Asia-Pacific tour, a reporter on Friday asked Clinton whether she had ruled out running for the presidency through 2016, according to the Associated Press.
"Oh yes, yes," Clinton replied. "I'm very pleased to be doing what I'm doing as secretary of state."
In a separate interview with TV New Zealand, Clinton said the United States "should be" ready for a female president, but that it would not be her. "But it will be someone, and it is nice coming to countries that have already proven that they can elect women to the highest governing positions that they have in their systems," she added. New Zealand has had two female prime ministers.
Clinton has said repeatedly she has no intention of running for president again, but that has not stopped speculation or interest in the idea. A Gallup poll in September showed that more than a third of Democrats would support Clinton were she to challenge President Obama in the primaries for the 2012 election. The first 2012 presidential ad was even in support of Clinton.
Clinton and the White House have also had to shoot down rumors that she would replace Vice President Joe Biden on the 2012 ticket.

Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!Quote:
"It's been very, very slow for government agencies to give grants," said Harrison. "If a high ranking politician gets bed bugs, that might change."
Maybe that's already happened. The Environmental Protection Agency is heading up a recently-created interagency task force focused on the bed bug problem, which according to the National Pest Management Association is present in all 50 states. A congressional bedbug forum is set for November 18.
Now they're in schools, offices, and public buildings. Must be a PR nightmare for five star hotels. Gonna give the cockroaches a run for their money.
Doesn't the bedbug have a natural predator, or something that keeps them away like mothballs do for moths? :hmm:
The Democrats were the ones who made age an issue. So now they'll have to live with the consequences. :noob:
Back to lolli's question, if Clinton said she'd run, every single one of her moves between now and then would be viewed as a challenge to Obama and as an attempt to improve her position at his expense.
I recall the argument was more along voter age demographics than candidate age. It just so happened that many young voters identified with the Democratic party, while many senior voters identified with the Republican party. During the '08 Presidential election, at least.
The mid-term elections were a classic mixed-bag. Throw the Incumbents out belonged more to Independent (and Tea Party) voters than party line voters, regardless of age.
I recall the argument being, "OMG, McCain will die in office", which was emphasized even more after Palin was chosen as the VP candidate.
American music awards in Europe?
That was one of MY complaints during the campaign. Related more to his age + health history, than just his age alone. Same standard applied to Cheney.
Which brings me to an interesting (WTF) hypothetical. Regarding cognitive mental health, not just physical health or age-related health. If we identify a progressive dementia or Alzheimer's gene, would that preclude anyone from running for Presidency or congress?
Would we demand that test of our Incumbents, instead of pushing for sweeping term limits?
edit---better yet, would we demand a full health screening AND genetic health screening before anyone can run for office? I can't remember who shared it, but there were votes for a local candidate who died before the elections were over. [An end-stage cancer patient.] Now their whole election has to be reconfigured and done again. :bulb:
Of course, since I can't seem to make this text white, I'll include the link. The only thing I could think when I read this was..."Only in Wyoming"!Quote:
Wyo. cops lose box of drugs that says 'METH' on it
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Officials in Wyoming want people to be on the lookout for a black box with white lettering that says "METH," after a deputy lost a stash used to train police dogs. Teton County sheriff's Sgt. Lloyd Funk said the deputy accidentally left the box on a bumper after a canine training exercise Oct. 27. It contained nearly an ounce of methamphetamine.
The deputy drove off with the drugs perched on the vehicle.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reported that officers literally trying to get drugs off the street haven't been able to find the box.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the sheriff's office. Sheriff Jim Whalen says someone possessing the amount of meth that was lost would face a felony charge.
Whalen says his office is taking action to make sure the mistake isn't repeate

At the top-left of the post control box (whether using in place editing or the advanced editor) there's an icon with two overlayed letter "A"s with a red x. Highlight the text and click that, and it'll remove all formatting from it, including the black coloring on what you copy-pasted.
AHA! I gots it now...until the next time, when I will promptly forget it! :haha:
