And while we're at "organizing a society" - yes, Dread, that's why there are rules and laws. Without those, you'd hardly have an organized society. Simply proclaiming "freedom" to be the supreme goal of all human aspirings is a laughable notion - you just have to look at the failures our own society created here to know that "no rules" is not a good ideal to strive for.
I don't know about the US, but here in Germany we had this movement of "anti-paedagogics" for a while - where the children were allowed to do whatever they liked. Yeah, that went well...
