You either like having sex/the idea of having sex with the same gender or you don't. You'd be gay in this instance. If you like having sex/the idea of having sex with the opposite gender then you're straight. If you like both these things, then you're bi. If you like none of them, then you're asexual. This should pretty much cover the basics, I'm not understanding what is so hard about this to understand.
