It is disturbing to think that a govt can, with the support of a substantial portion of a major party's core constituency, implement the forcible and potentially irreversible separation of hundreds of children from their parents... and none of the officials ultimately responsible will go to jail.
Cruelty to children as a policy tool is more than disturbing, it's reprehensible. Coming from Republicans professing to be pro-life, pro-family, "Values Voters" reeks of hypocrisy. At least the new (D) majority congress is holding hearings. Better late than never? The letter said Asif’s application suffered from “significant adverse factors that show discretion should not be exercised in your favor,” citing that ICE ordered Asif removed on Jan. 17 and that he is currently detained in Port Isabel.
