Yeah, it's that building shouldn't have burned down but McDonald's is no angel. They have a history of labour, health, environmental and sexual harassment violations going back decades. Plus, the corporation as a whole has been resisting being held responsible for labour violations of it's own franchises. If they hadn't been resisting, that building probably wouldn't have been burnt down. Something to think about.

People that have worked with the cop during OT security have given interviews about the cop being overly aggressive with black patrons, he also has several racially charged complaints in his file.
There are rumors going around that it may have been personal. No compelling evidence, nor does it really matter.

I appreciate this is a sensitive subject. I've no intention of upsetting anyone and belittling a cause. It's just a question that's been bugging me.
The main source for those complaints is his employer in his job on the side as security worker at a bar/night club. His victim has worked at the same place but not in the same shifts as far as I know.
There's a term for Germans during the 30s and 40s who joined the Nazi party not because they were committed anti-Semites or white supremacists, but because they were German nationalists or because it was personally convenient for their careers, or because they'd been taken in by Nazi propaganda or because they thought the uniforms were cool, for a million other reasons. That word is "Nazi".
The protests are happening because the police can kill and abuse with impunity, especially if the victim is a Black American, break the law and exceed their authority constantly, lie constantly and the justice system and the entire political system is basically cool with that, and in fact, pays a stupid into police budgets to do so while the rest of the country crumbles. Who honestly gives a fuck what was in the head of this particular asshole he when he killed Floyd? Was it a race thing, or a personal thing, or was he just killing for the fun of it? I could not give less of a shit.
