According to my little temperature thingy on my computer, (yes, I know it's not accurate because it comes out of a different town) says that it is 13 degrees, but feels like -6! Hell, it only got to 17 degrees all day, according to that thingy. Whether it's off a few degrees or not doesn't matter when it's this fucking cold! :( Add to that the fact if someone had shot me yesterday, I know I would have felt better. I honestly don't remember being this sick in a long time. I do feel a tiny bit better today, but have to gear up to cook for 18 to 20 people tomorrow! :cry:

Of course she could just be blowing smoke as most Facebook posts are nothing more than that, but it definitely put me off. And I hate myself for that. :mad:

Honestly, not to be rude but around here you would get your storefront cleaned quicker by doing yourself or hiring someone. If the localities did it businesses wouldn't open on time due to inefficiencies.
I worked in a city building open to the public, and one morning we had ice in the parking lot. They had the sidewalks cleaned just as doors opened at 10AM, but the lot was iced over still so walking to the sideswalk was slippery.
I had to walk, or waddle across the lot 5 months pregnant. I was livid that no one had salted the lot knowing full well they planned to open on time that day.
Anyways. Big shopping centers hire people to maintain their sidewalks and landscaping year round. They usually have it cleared hours before opening a store or will open late to prevent injuries. (generally speaking)
Small stores might not be as vigilant though.
You know we actually need the sideways cleaned much earlier because people walk to work.
We're lucky to have sidewalks around here. :eek: Our township or city plows local roads, the state DOT plows highways and state roads. Parking lots are the responsibility of the shop owner or leasing agent. Sidewalks are left to the merchant or homeowner, unless it's a mall or apartment that has grounds maintenance.
I've never seen snow. :(
