Old Gods was my last one I got (got all before it), the Norse are fun to play as. Never played as Muslims yet, I'm guessing that's been revamped now from Sword of Islam to Sons of Abraham?

Not a fan of the positioning of Muslim rulers (might be why they ended up losing historically :p ). But they do seem to have various unique elements, like the importance of decadence.
I've got the same ones, but also not played as a Muslim, and only once as a pagan. Playing as a Republic is kinda fun, but seemed a bit too easy (I was practically drowning in money). But with the last update the map changed so all my save games didn't load, I think.
Anyway I've mostly played the game of thrones mod, which is pretty cool except the latest versions don't work for me because my laptop is shitty and it runs out of ram, and the older versions don't work with older game versions. :(
Playing as a pagan is fun. If you manage to reform the Tengri faith, you have some pretty major advantages. Reformed Norse is also pretty good, as you become the head of the church, allowing you to declare the equivalent of Crusades.
I'm somewhat intrigued by Valiant Hearts - it certainly looks good, but I can't really see what the actual gameplay will be like.
All CKII DLC is on sale 67% off. £2.67 for Sons of Abraham and £3.33 for Rajas of India.
Yes.
What's good about the Raja one?
I was going to ask if this was worth buying, but I appear to already own it. How weird.
It says it also adds special units, kinda curious about that.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/246760/ Anyone heard of this game? Granted, it's still in beta, but looks pretty interesting.
Any RPG recommendations for PC? Preferably ones that aren't third-person shooters with tiny RPG elements.
If you don't mind old, I always liked kotor. Aged quite a bit, but the story is excellent.
Not a fan of Star Wars or of real-time combat (I know you can technically pause). :o
Wasteland 2, Might and Magic X, Shadowrun Returns / Dragonfall
Thanks for the recommendations. MMX just looks meh. Shadowrun has a 10-15 hour campaign. I'll look more into Wasteland 2.
Has anyone tried Divinity: Original Sin?
Have heard good things about Divinity, but I think it's still in Early Access and you can't get the full campaign. They stop you from progressing after a certain point early on.
A number of allegedly free to play mobile games need premium currency to do well, sometimes to can get some from watching videos as an offer but they quickly run out. Today I realised for one game I've got on iPad and iPhone (same account synced) that there was a load available on iPad and a load on iPhone so by time they ran out I'd watched double the number originally available.
That made me wonder, is there any way to reset the availability of those videos to make more available?
Are they synced through a service like Facebook? Try logging out of it so they unsync? I do something like that for Candy Crush, log into facebook to play the levels until I hit the end of the chapter, then I log out of facebook to avoid the part that requires me to spam my friends to advance.

Been playing Age of Empires Online this week. Game gets shut down at the end of the month along with the Games for Windows Live Service. I misjudged how quickly I could power through this, but its a good deal more fun than I was expecting, so I aint even mad.
Synced through iOS Gamecentre I believe?
I wish they'd make more genuine AoE games. That was a favourite series of mine. That style of strategy genre seems to have died though :(
I played FFXIV for a few weeks. The crafting system is the best since the defunct Star Wars MMO. It has extensive player housing, and the fighting isn't bad. Anyone else tried it?
I thought SWTOR was still trading and not defunct?

I think they dumbed down the crafting system since launch. The game was terrible in many ways, but it did have the best crafting/gathering system (better gathering than crafting) I've ever seen. Try googling for it.
Really been enjoying Aerena. Fun turn based competitive game play with games that only take about 10 minutes or so which makes it perfect my schedule.
If anyone wants to try FF XIV, Enix finally released a 14-day free trial.
I'm on Zalera - pretty fun so far.
PROS:
Dungeon Finder starts very early (level 10! Granted this isn't a dungeon but a couple of fights to train people on group dynamics)
Lots of quests
Seems like a merger (based on 10 hours of playing) of World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2. There isn't a roll button but there are area based attacks on common mobs you could avoid
I'm a big fan of cut scenes - while they haven't rocked my world I appreciate them in my MMO
CONS:
Free trial you aren't allowed to message people outside of group chat
After the trail there is a subscription fee... not a huge deal but definitely a negative compared to GW2
Crafting feels weird - you actually lose your base class and turn into a crafting class, some people might like it but I'll be skipping it completely probably
I think crafting/gathering is the best part of the game. :noob: Unlike Warcraft, you can level up every class. And each crafting class has its own dynamics, though you need finished resources from one class to craft things in the others. And there's a strong incentive to pay careful attention to crafting in order to get the high-quality items (you could also get double-experience in crafting quests if you produce a high-quality item). Even gathering is somewhat fun, where you have access to different skills instead of just hitting "mine".
I'm on Midgardsomr.
Let me know if you do decide to stay. We can make a guild. It gets its own housing. Also, there's individual housing, but it costs a fortune.
Why am I not surprised you would be into crafting. ;)
Also I forgot the biggest PRO - Inventory and Loot system.
You don't have to click on the individual bodies... any loot from the monster is auto looted. Also since you start with ONE HUNDRED SLOTS to put things in NOT counting your armory chest the frantic search for bigger slot bags isn't there. Love that part.
Once you get a retainer, you get 7 extra bags of holding. :o Unfortunately, you can't get a retainer with the free trial.
And yes, the auto-loot is great. Also, if a quest requires you to get x number of things from monster y, every single one of those monsters drops x. No more wasting hours to get rare quest drops.
Got sucked deep into CK2 again, currently nearly a century into a Norse campaign which is the longest I've gone in a single campaign rather than starting a new one. The ironman mode definitely makes things better.
New CK2 expansion to be announced Thursday. Curious where else they can take this game, it has been incredibly well developed and fleshed out already since it was first launched.
New CK2 expansion is Charlemagne with the start date getting pushed back until 769. Sounds interesting to me but reading the Paradox forums you'd think they'd just announced they were taking a dump on the fans for money. Insanely negative reaction.
Ps if anyone does read their forums I post there when I'm presently playing under a different username, Ayn Mandarb. Lost the email address I signed up for there as RandBlade many years ago so couldn't reset password when I went back years later. Ayn = Rand, Mandarb is Blade in the old tongue in WoT, the name of Lan's horse. Get it? ;)
Move to my server, damn you. :p I need 2 more people to start a guild.
Started a new game on Crusader Kings 2. Figured out how to change in-game from the default of being Feudal to being a Republic in-game, which wasn't supposed to be possible you had to start as a Republic to play as one and there are very few of those as options.
So now playing an Ironman game as a Norse Merchant Republic. Should make for an interesting game.
It's fun to start with, but gets boring after a while, unfortunately.
