What is making you happy right now

So I just noticed that my lawyer sent me an e-mail on Friday after I left work (good to know he's working harder than I am). A bit of background: a while back, I was able to con my employers into letting me play with some bleeding edge tech, and I started fiddling with things to prototype up some new stuff. Unfortunately, it got cut and won't be released this go around, though they're letting me design and build the infrastructure to make it easier to do it later. Back to lawyer stuff: despite being cut, I just got a new patent application filed for it! The lawyer seems very optimistic about it's chances, and said it'll be one of the easier ones he got to get granted. So twoish years from now, new patent for Wraith!

That sucks; I was about to ask you about your opinion until you said you can't use voice. The voice control is probably the most appealing thing to me about it, but that convienience alone doesn't really justify its price tag.

I presume the voice thing will be fixed in the future. Otherwise it works real nice though you really need a 3x3 (multiply by 3 for feet) open space to play. It actually feels like a real work out.

I could get it with a €30 discount, otherwise I might not have bought it. Though now I think it may even be worth full price.

Sadly, that's not possible anymore. It's not a recent photo; the power lines were removed a while ago.

A 20.000 TL water bill + late fines was officially stricken from the books today. As of today my only debt to the water company in Istanbul is TL 2 in standard fees. (1TL = €0.50)

I'm an uncle again! For the fourth time.

Two boys to one sister, and now two girls to the other sister, with one just being born a couple of hours ago after a quick 3 hour labour.

I'm chuffed to bits. :)

I managed to pick up a nice run around car yesterday. It isn't what i wanted in the long run but due to the house purchase my budget decreased by a large sum. It's a new shape Clio (1.4 on a 08 plate), 28k on the clocks, 5 months Renault warranty left on it, Full service history (last serviced 4 months ago), Elec windows/mirrors, A/Con and other bits n bobs - I won the auction at £3600 but cost £3850 after the fees. Not only did i walk out with £600 in my pocket as i didn't spend all the cash in my budget but if i were to sell it right now i'd make £1500 on it ppl reckon.

I'll post some pic's later (No camera + it looks like crap due to the grit :mad:). I'm a little gutted I couldn't get the Merc i wanted but i wanted both a newer car and a house so a compromise had to be made.

My advice for anyone in the UK going to buy a motor - visit their local Manheim auction.

I was a little skeptical because you don't know what state the car is in. However I noticed that cars went through MOT style checks, all faults (if any) were mentioned before hand. You had time to look around (not allowed to drive though but you can watch it being driven in) so there was a little more peace of mind for you. The whole process was amazing, they had some very nice cars there like SLK, 5 Series and 90% were virtually new and an absolute bargain.

For example:

I saw a 05 plate M3 (soft top) go for £6600, it needed one new tyre, a radio + it had 72k miles on the clock.

My dads mate brought a 07 plate 1.6 Vauxhall Astra (5dr) with 4k on the clocks for £4,100. It had a few scratches but jesus for that price it's hardly worth losing any sleep over.

After about four days of feeling like absolute shit, to the point I almost went to the ER last night, I feel a slight bit better this afternoon! I came down with some kind of flu bug (I think) that was both intestinal and the achy/headachy/sneezing/coughing variety! I have talked to a few other people who have had the same thing. It must be almost Christmas, since I am always sick at Christmas! At least I hope I got it out of my system so I can enjoy the rest of the holiday season!

Plus, The Kid called this morning and said he was able to order a beautiful lamp for Mommymunchkin and it was a lot less than we had expected to spend! :D AND, it will be here before Christmas! :jumpclap:

Took a risk, and it paid off.

International poltics, for once, is making me happy.

At work we are doing one of our monthly long print runs for DHL, it never fails to make me giggle how they must produce two different books all because the middle eastern clients refuse to see 'Israel' in their books.

I spent the afternoon watching "Polar Express" with my Bear! Makes me very happy! :D

Yesterday, I found a brutal enough oxidant for a synthesis pathway I had already given up. This is particularly good, since I have heaps of starting material for that, but without any way to oxidate it, I'd have no use for it, which would mean producing it was an utter waste of time and effort.

Have been sledging today, first time this season. It was really awesome, next goal... to go skiing.
