Scarlett has done that. She fell off our bed onto the tile too; our bed is high enough that sometimes Ocean has trouble climbing onto it.
One of the babies Brandy watches fell out of his highchair over the weekend too (not on our watch).
Its part of being a baby, they are damn near indestructible. Seen the toddler in the picture thread take a dive over the baby gate? With the parents taping it...

For the first baby you feel bad, guilty (omg I am such a bad parent!) By the time the second or third baby comes around....not so much. Both my boys have scars on their foreheads and eyebrows, from running head on into furniture or falling off things. Skulls and facial bones really do serve their purpose. Try not to feel so bad, cat.
Knowing the signs of concussion will serve you well for at least the first decade!

Well, she didn't throw up or anything. Just put her down for a nap but its been nearly two hours since its happened so I'm thinking she's okay. No dilated eyes or weird behavior.
It still sucks. Being a parent sucks. :(

Brent used my Xbox Live account (which saves credit card info without asking!) to buy Xbox Live Gold for the xbox. He did this in December and I'm completely dumbfounded that I somehow missed it, because I'm so OCD about balancing the account online at least once a week. a)We're now getting Netflix. Good deal for what it offers, especially since we don't have cable, but still. I managed to keep it out of sight/out of mind on the Wii and PS3 up till this point.
b) She loves the dashboard interface, and finds it really easy to use with stuff like last.fm and she likes the way they did facebook.
So basically, its going to be even harder for me to find a chance to play my Xbox 360 on the living room TV. :cry:

Another time my brothers decided to throw stones at each other. One hit punched a clear hole into the upper lip of my brother.
Not to mention the broken shinbone (broken in 5(!) places) of my brother after he discovered that the Rollerblades' brakes don't work on gravel and a steep incline. This was in Italy during a youth retreat - did you know that in Italy you have to buy the surgical instruments yourself? There were a lot of such shops around the hospital. Of course, there's no hospital food either (though, that's actually not that bad if I recall the stuff they inflicted on me during my hospital stays)

Holidays are over :( One week past way too fast, but it has been wonderful. Made almost 200 pics.
Last night I got a craving for Gary Moore, and played Out in the Fields, Still Got the Blues, Empty Rooms a few times in my soulless hotel-room... tonight I found out he died yesterday :(

It's 2:20 AM, I can't sleep, the doc didn't sent me home a script for the sleeping pill I was getting in the hospital, and Mr. Lemons (real name) will be out plowing the bank and convenience store parking lots in about 2 hours, meaning no early morning sleep either.
My apartment is a disaster, altho I have help coming tomorrow to help me with a few things and stand by in case I fall getting out of the tub/shower. She is a good friend who volunteered to help me out, since she knows I am overwhelmed at the moment, and still feeling a bit shaky at times. I haven't had a shower since I got home, due to the fact I still get really dizzy at odd times. Must be some left-over thing from my illness, or more likely, weakness from laying in bed for almost a fucking month!

My little brother (12) is in hospital undergoing surgery :(
He's been complaining on Facebook for days now about feeling sick, while appearing healthy. Today the school called up my mum and said she had to pick him up, took him to a clinic who told them to go to hospital. Turns out one of his testicles has twisted badly and causing him a lot of pain. It could naturally resolve itself, or if left untreated it could result in permanent loss of the testicle. If he has the surgery, they have to cut open his scrotum and there are risks involved with that. My parents opted for the surgery, but the doctor read out the consent form including potential consequences of the surgery in front of him - causing him to get even more upset. Just spoke to him just before he went in for surgery, he was crying while trying to be brave :(

I can't believe a doctor would do something that stupid! :mad: It's bad enough being an adult and having to consent to those risks...I can't imagine being a kid and having some doc tell me I might not wake up from the anesthesia or whatever. Dumb fucker! Someone should get him in a ball-twist and remind him to take the parents into the next room, or hallway, before reading shit like that!

CatGrrrl, my baby rolled off the sofa when she was a few months old. She was lying on the sofa and I was sitting next to her, Sharon called my name from upstairs, I stood up and took 3 steps away from the sofa, and heard the thump. I was away from her for about 5 seconds, max. She instantly started absolutely screaming, but after 5-10 minutes of comforting she was fine.
Sharon was telling me about how a friend of hers had another mutual friend round her house, and was sitting on the sofa, cup of coffee in one hand, baby in other. Baby slipped, and she decided to hold the coffee and let baby fall rather than other way round. The host was mortified, but the mum just said 'Oh don't worry, I've dropped her loads of times and she's been fine' :bulb:

The man next door is burning stuff in his yard today, and it totally reeks. Really wish it were illegal, there's no reason to subject your neighbors to this.
I have to put up with the farmers in my area burning their fields every spring. The stink of burning weeds, the smoke obscuring your vision, and the hazard of the fire going out-of-control. I feel your pain Lolli. It should be illegal.

If the wind is blowing toward a town, they can't burn, if the wind is more than 10 MPH, they can't burn, and if the coal dust is built up too badly, they have to bring in heavy equipment and remove most of it before the burn. It still emits a nasty black cloud, and stinks to high heavens!
A bonfire requires a permit too. Of course, for the most part, we only have 1 per year...high school football homecoming. And since everyone in town supports our athletes, it's never a problem to get the permit or the fire department/ambulance standby.
