And do what? The Republicans want to appeal to a certain type of voter, and how well they do so is represented in their approval numbers. In order for Huntsman to do better as a Republican candidate, he would have to either run as, or become a candidate that you would no longer support. Either that or he has to somehow magically change the opinions of people who vote Republican to fit in line with his ideals. I find this last point highly unlikely to happen, if "magically" didn't give that away.
