I'm amazed he's in favor of killing trees for paper. :o
You think he will be on the national stage anytime soon? I don't think he will.
There was just a story today that he filed to run for state office in Texas.
A state office...big whoop. Now if he runs to become a congress critter, then he will have my attention.

WHAT if aliens really do exist?
The thought is too much for BBC bosses to handle.
The media behemoth shut down a TV presenter's plan to point a radio telescope at a newly-discovered planet out of fear that aliens might answer back.
Professor Brian Cox said the BBC was concerned the experiment, to be staged live on air during his show Stargazing Life, broke the corporation's health and safety rules.
"We decided that we'd point the Jodrell Bank telescope at the planet (Threapleton Holmes B) that had been discovered by these two viewers (in January) and listen because no one had ever pointed a radio telescope at it and you never know," Mr Cox said on BBC radio.
"The BBC actually said, 'But you can't do that because we need to go through the regulations and health and safety and everything in case we discover a signal from an alien civilisation'."
"(I said), 'You mean we would discover the first hint that there is other intelligent life in the universe beyond Earth, live on air, and you're worried about the health and safety of it?'
"It was incredible. They did have guidelines. Compliance."
:bored:
Brian Cox is a fucking superstar.
The BBC on the other hand ... :haha:
The weather here is ridiculous. The high today is 70F, but it's meant to snow tonight. There are also winds of about 40-50 mph right now. :bored:
Are you vacationing on Neptune?
Nope, still in Cornland USA. Woke up because I thought there was a tornado. :o

Somebody really didn't want Obama to win.
Using the search function made me say out loud WTF? I know damn well I'd started a thread on Infrastructure, with stats from Army Corps of Engineers plus academic engineers and city planners quoted in Modern Mechanics. I remember because of the grief I got for using Modern Mechanics as a reference.
But I can't find the thread now. WTF?

Not sure if that's the one you were looking for, but it was the only thread that showed up when I searched for infrastructure+mechanics, and started by you.
I remember reading stuff like that before, possibly on the Soviet side... Of course they wouldn't have blown Luna apart, just do a nuclear test like they did on Earth. There's also a Stanislaw Lem novel about outsourcing war to the Moon :)
So, I knew that some of the labelling in our supermarkets is a bit dodgy. For example, writing "without addition of glutamate" and then adding yeast extract (which contains a boatload of glutamate) is about par for the course nowadays.
But this certainly at least boarders on fraud:

Notice the two red boxes? The upper one states "mixture of honey from non-EG-countries". The lower box states: "Originates in our region" (aka: Lower Saxony, Germany).
So, if I buy tomatoes in Spain and repackage them here, I'll probably be allowed to sell them as "originating in our region" as well, hmmh?
Well, of course EG countries doesn't mean anything but you're right, most likely they want you to believe it's local rather than from our region which of course could be as encompassing as all of Europe.
Oh, it does mean something. It's one of the three parts of the EU (EG being the interior political and economical union, the other two consisting of foreign / security political community and the police / justice part. Though the EG does not actually exist anymore since 2009).
Which in this case means that it's actually from anywhere but Europe.
Maybe your local community has left the EG? :p
Kinda reminds me of the worst wine I ever had - that was labeled as 'Wine from different regions of Europe' :p It was cheap, though!
And, how was it? :p
Went to a fair in Nürmberg, guess where we had to park our car? At the fucking Nazis ;)

Arsenal losing to Bradford, after Wenger stating that it's a long time until next PL game, so they would top their team. -,-
