Wanted to try the new Desktop Defense game Sol Survivor on Steam - but something on my PC made the game barf. Grml.
At least the guys responsible for that game answered within minutes which makes me optimistic that a solution can be found.
I've had several Steam purchases turn out to be useless downloads - Steam then fobs you off with the "Third party support" which then turns out to be non-existent.
BTW: Whatever happened to Starcraft II?
Perfect Dark for XBLA is out Wednesday. Yeah. Nostalgia here I come...
The Starcraft beta is out, and cracked on torrents with working AI.
No LAN support without going through battle.net
Anyone who tried Assassins Creed 2 on pc yet?
The DRM on that is absurd. You require a constant internet connection, and if there's any network hiccups you lose whatever progress you have in the game. They had a server crash a week or two ago too, and nobody could play the game (single player!) until it was fixed. I can't buy things like that, on principle.
Yeah, Ubisoft is going to lose my business on that one.
We need a way to fight piracy so lets screw paying customers. For some reason, at first glance, I'm not totally sure whether that will help.
Pillocks!
AC2 seems like quite a good game as well. Shame they don't provide a decent service to play it, constant online connection? Madness!
:picard: WTF? Single player disabled with an internet disconnection or connection problem? Even Steam doesn't (quite) stoop so low.
And yes Ziggy, punishing the people willing to pay for games because of the actions of those unwilling to pay would have to be ranked among the dumbest decisions made by a game publisher/distributor.
Servers still aren't stable. Ubisoft even lost this main website to an attack a few days ago.
Problem got so bad that the error customers get says "incorrect username or password" instead of mentioning a connection issue on Ubisoft's end.
The best part, the first wave of hacks that allowed the game to launch (no idea of completion status at this point) were released on Day 1.
I got Pokemon Heart Gold today.
Goodbye, free time!
Wonder if I'll ever outgrow pokemon...
Even Ocean gets to play now:

My son wants that. I think he'll have to wait for his birthday, though. The Easter Bunny already picked out games.
I picked up Pokémon Platinum Saturday night, the last day to get Jirachi from GameStop, while I borrow my niece's DS. It's rather interesting playing again since I'd not played a Pokémon game since Gold & Silver came out.
The Easter Bunny brings all sorts of wonderful things, including chocolate eggs that the Cadbury Bunny lays (and that neither kid actually likes).
My kids aren't big candy eaters. They still have Halloween candy left. The Easter Bunny knows that, so the Easter Bunny tries to make sure they get what they really want instead.
Easter Bunny brings Easter Baskets, usually full of all kinds of interesting things the kids have been waiting for. Sometimes the Easter bunny hides special eggs that include instructions or vouchers for toys or "that big thing" that doesn't fit in the basket. Oddly enough, depending on what I find in my cupholders, some of the easter bunny's eggs include cash or change.
Currently playing through Final Fantasy 13 right now. About 25 hours into the game, and only halfway. Very long, as expected from a game they worked on for almost 5 years.
We're playing the Land of Singles and Wraithy is being mean and not telling us the rules :(
We're playing the Land of Singles and I think Wraithy doesn't actually know the rules and is just fucking with us to make me cry.
RockBand, on the iPhone!
