When admin told us this, my first unchecked remark was... thats the chick website right? :picard:
so i'm got about a week to figure out what these boards are, and why and how people pin shit.
BestBuy claims to be having a massive 99 cent sale on used PS2 and PSP games. Except they won't ship, even though it says free shipping, and as best I can tell almost no one has found any of the titles that are listed online as in stock at a local store.
My Assassins Creed Vita has already broken and is no longer reading memory cards. I go on vacation next week and was expecting to bring it, and now i have to worry about getting a generic model as an RMA and I won't have it for vacation. Right when I was finally getting into assassins creed. :mad:

Both of my feet have been swollen since Monday. Haven't improved at all. It's hard to keep your feet propped when you have a maniac 2 yr old in the house with you. :( This is what I get for using Just Dance as a workout.
How swollen? Are you sure it's from the game?
My graphics card seems to be dying, 6 months after getting it new. It keeps crashing in almost every game I play, and this includes older and newer games. :(
Having a bad cold, watching some reality show about people who take it upon themselves to renovate a ruin in a village in France. Then suddenly, without any prior warning a lightfixture comes loose from the ceiling and comes crashing down on a table with a glass top that is both special for its model and because it used to belong to Ronald's parents. Glass splinters all over the floor in the living room, and now being totally befuddled by my policy which is from 2006 and the non-matching terminology on the website of the Insurance company that bought the Insurance company with which I took out the policy.
A rough estimate of the damage is at least €500 just for the glass plate, not including having it fitted into the table and having scratches on the stand retouched.

Feet are still messed up a week and a half later. Doc says a bad sprain but I'm going back in the morning since it hasn't improved, and also I've tested positive for rheumatoid arthritis factors.
Had to get back from ski holidays early, stupid flue :mad:

My fireplace is OK, even though, I don't heat with it, I have floor heating. Anyways the fireplace is not really the issue if you have been skiing the whole day.

Well, my family continues the messed up journey through our fucked up health care and educational systems. This time it's my youngest son paying the price, which compounds the fucked-up factor. Things should be better for younger siblings, not worse! Things should be easier for veteran parents, not harder! :cry:
The cabin area in Pigeon Forge, where we stay when visiting where we spread my dad's ashes, is the same area that burned to the ground :(
The Wii U's load times. Not game load times, but the actual system. Trying to go to the home screen takes forever, and launching downloaded virtual titles seems to take twice as long. I know I bought a system earlier than I expected to because of the $50 gift card and game sale at target, and the 30 cent fzero and punchout in the Nintendo shop...but it wasn't worth it. the system borderlines on being unusable with load times like this.

So, I setup XBMC on a Raspberry Pi and connected that to my Windows PC's files through SMB. Works fine.
Now my brother wants to see if his bloody Apple can serve as a file server as well. After him discovering that Apple seems to have bungled the SMB format (evil GPL hindered them from adopting the standard!), he now insists that somehow it's Xbian's / XMBC's / Raspberry's fault and that it would all work just fine if he just installed XMBC on an Apple AirPlay.
Yeah, because it's totally the server hardware's fault if it can't connect to a client's shares.
Good grief. The guy has enough knowledge to be dangerous but not enough knowledge to recognize where his knowledge is lacking.

More spring snow. This is a happy and messed-up thing at the same time. I love snow and cold temps, but this seasonal back-and-forth is frustrating. One week it's clearly spring, with crocus blooms, early onion leafing, daffodil buds, greening grass, birds chirping at sunrise (ugh) and balmy temps...the next week it's 6 inches of snow, ice, driving winds, and freezing temps.
Our school closings and make-up days are a mess. Easter/Spring vacation is whittled down to one Friday.

I'd love to know that too. Been a couple of years since we've had school closed in Norway, and I suspect it not being that much worse in the U. S. :p
I assume when there's so much snow school buses don't drive, or when it packs on the roof with danger of collapsing.
Then I suppose we just have different priorities in regard to that. There is always piles of snow in the winter and sometimes early spring, but never that much on the roads. Snow trucks operate actively, and once traffic is going in the morning, snow doesn't get a grip.
Three weeks later and I still have swollen feet. Doc put me back on the good meds, but hoping that her test results come back with some answers soon.

Answering the snow questions: our snow removal is a state/county public service that isn't funded or structured very well. That's why a few inches of snow or ice can close entire school districts. :sour:
Its much cheaper for cities and towns on the edge of snowy regions to simply shutdown and extend the school year. Why worry about snow removal equipment if you're going to use it 1 or 2 days out of a year?
Areas around here take the same stance towards hurricanes.
Yeah, but I live in the "snow state" of PA -- and we always have school cancellations for "unexpected" snow or ice. Denial is a crazy way to budget public funds.
School cancellations over here usually only happen due to malfunctioning school heating systems.
Though once my school had to close on a friday and saturday when the nearby river flooded the schoolyard (our teachers had to row over to the main building ;) ). And we once had a school cancellation due to excessively hot weather - however, that cancellation was only for the grades from 7 up to 11. I was in grade 13 at the time... :(
STEM curricula and track craziness. My son needs one more science class next year to fulfill HS "science" requirements....but his only choices are Physics or Integrated Science (a combo of physics and chemistry). They don't offer Zoology, Botany, or human Physiology/Anatomy. Not even for students in the 'advanced track'. :sour:
Never hurts to learn some physics and chemistry.
