In IRC we were talking about rules, and in general the same rules as were on Atari pre-Phoxewoxy will apply. Feel free to discuss it, though. We don't like being treated like idiots, after all.

The same rules as they were pre-Phoxe seems reasonable, but its cool now that we can set them however we want.
EG - what's everyone's ideas on swearing/filtering? Do we really need fag or ass on the filter list? Fair enough if people do want them filtering :)
Wraith already posted the rules. :)
Those were only temporary rules, I think lolli's talking about the permanent ones. Does anyone really object to having the pre-Phoxe CC rules?
I saved a copy of Randy's CC FAQ when Phoxe started coughing up phlegm in our cotton candy machine, but I'm guessing you already had one yourself
I liked the temp rules, actually. But I don't know what the profanity filter looks like here.
You guess wrong!Quote:

I'm thinking we should ban spamming, excessive flaming, and discussion of illegal activities, along with taking adult content to the relevant sub-forum.
I'm assuming you mean illegal in the United States of Murika?Quote:

Is my pen the adult content sub-forum?
Do we really want/need an adult subforum?
I was thinking of making the off-topic forum fair game for discussions of people's personal lives, not having a separate forum per se.
Nessus, there's a fine line between berating someone and scaring them off.
Born politician, that doesn't answer my question :mrgreen:Quote:

Warning points are really a mod-tool, and don't add much to the user experience, so I think Dread and Rand should get the most say in whether or not we have one of those.
While I doubt we'll need much mod-action here (not getting new DBZers coming over for which WL's were actually useful), the log was always the important part, not the points themselves.
Would anyone be opposed to creating a new, temporary sub-forum for these types of threads while we customize this place? Just in case anyone wants to have serius bizness discussions while that's happening.
Be Veidt and just do it, I'm sure the srs bznz ppl don't want swearword test threads amidst their bznz
I think the rules from Atari Before The Fall will probably, but a bit looser. EG it's okay to say "shit", but not okay to post pictures of porn.

That's fu.ck
No filters.
Or that. As long as I can call bitter a fag hag
Fights, not filters?Quote:

By the way, I also put this forum in my signature.
Listed in my sig now too.
You dont even have a sig...
The "c" word (female) is the only word in the English language that offends me, but if someone uses it I won't flip out. I just choose not to use it.
so, I don't really care about filters. Just my two cents.
