I guess we'll have to see how the fight plays out on screen. :) I was looking forward to the Strong Belwas duel as well, but I guess that's not happening.

Season 4 Episode 2 spoilers:
Prerequisite leading text for the people who use the feed. I'll need to fix that someday...
Wow, you really need a lot of this.

Spoiler:
Very strong episode, and indeed, I expected this to happen later.
Spoiler:
There wasn't really enough time to build momentum though. :o
Spoiler:
Ugh, I hate it when television producers do that. The assholes did the same thing to Terry Goodkind's "Sword of Truth" series with "The Seeker". Bleh, made it unwatchable for me.
To be fair, most changes so far are minor and understandable (i.e. combining characters to condense the huge amount of them, showing actions that occur offscreen in the books) or understandable for plot reasons (i.e. some plots have 'boring' parts that don't work on the screen, you can't read minds on tv so more has to be actually discussed instead of thought (the recent visit to Braavos, for example), but some are surprising and might affect things yet to come in the last few books.

You might want to fix the spoiler tag in the quote :p
Spoiler:
Didn't Steel propose a rule one about labeling show spoilers vs. book spoilers? I don't know which of these are safe to open, and I'm afraid to read Illusion's post at all!
Show Spoiler: S04E08:
Book spoiler in link below. Here's how the fight should have played out:

That was the one fight I was hoping they would go all out on. The reason why I defended not using a ginormous actor for the mountain is because I was hoping it would make it easier for them to make this fight that much more epic.
I've finally given up on the series. I enjoyed the books, will read the rest if they ever appear, but the show just isn't holding my interest.
I think the acting is pretty good. A vast majority of the characters are portrayed excellently. The problem is that the directors/producers just aren't very creative. They change things that make a marginal difference and don't change things that they really should change (i.e. like having better fighting/war scenes than we get in the book).
Given the show's ratings, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a well-crafted battle scene in each season.
I still love this series, but was kind of surprised with the Sansa/Arya story-line.
Which aspect of it?
Spoiler:
I thought a lot of the fighting scenes would be spectacular, and none of them have been yet. :p
