Be infinitely better than May.

Never gets old, but, as endearing as that clip is, we mustn't forget that this woman is responsible for fucking up tens of thousands of lives, since long before her ascendancy to the post of PM.
The Trumpification of English politics continues apace:

So, 31% of British voters believe that Brexit should be delivered at any price.
Don't worry about Ireland anymore folks, the President of the United States of America says everything is going to be great with Ireland's wall on the border.

*facepalm*
It's more than Nigel Farage has said on the subject, yet you voted for him.
And related to that, the Brexit Party very, very nearly achieved their first elected MP last night. A sure sign that they'll have power in parliament soon.
Not so sure. If they can't win in 61% leave where can they win?
Nigel Farage was not a candidate on my ballot paper. Though I agree with what he has to say on the subject of Brexit alone more than Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn or Vince Cable.
I doubt the Brexit Party will ever have much power in Parliament, hopefully it never comes to that. They may have power putting pressure on the main parties (especially Tories) though.
Labour held on, but lost 17% vote share. That is akin to the Eastleigh by-election where the Lib Dems lost 15% vote share, but narrowly held on. Two years later the Lib Dems lost 49 of their 57 seats including Eastleigh.
It's amazing how you detach your actions from reality. Just because Farage wasn't on your ballot paper you absolve yourself from the fact that you are supporting him in his objective of breaking the system in the UK. The same system you've been telling everyone is so utterly superior.
The system is superior and its ability to be broken is a key reason why. Rather than plaid mushy consensuses and backroom compromises, we the voters can actually hold our MPs to account and have wholesale change if necessary. Canada in 1993 is an incredible example using our voting system, the governing Conservatives in 1988 had won 169/295 seats. Five years later they won 2. All bar 2 Tories lost their seats.
If our government doesn't shape up and listen to its voters then it deserves the same fate.
This is so moronic it's all in a class of its own. A singularity of stupidity if you will.Quote:

It is not moronic although I suspect your reading comprehension is a bit lacking which may be why the point went over your head. That is your own ignorance not mine.
When someone says about an ostensibly democratic country that their system is breaking or broken, it's kinda dumb to assume they're referring to the ability to change who's in power.
Not really, it depends upon the fuller context of what is said, along with the reasons or explanations given, which is why comprehension is such a key skill.
However the ability to change who's in power is what is working, not that which is broken. The people in power refusing to honour their commitments to the electorate is broken and needs fixing, which thanks to our democratic system can be done peacefully by replacing the people in power.
So, if a non-brexit plurality with a majority in Parliament decides to ditch Brexit what's the system then?
Broken? Buzzing along just fine? Which reality will be yours then?
That's not far from what's been happening already and the system then is that we the public need to hold our elected MPs to account.
Really?
Not to mention a govt intent on undermining or ignoring parliament's constitutional authority, and a political discourse that gives lies the same status as truth.

Brexiters: It is vitally important that we respect democracy by delivering Brext.
Also Brexiters: I'll suspend democratic institutions to force through my preferred outcome to Brexit, which has absolutely no democratic mandate and will probably cause direct harm the country
Raab is a moron for suggesting that.
This part here:
Something that is built into a system cannot be "broken". It only shows again that you have no clue on how democracy works. Sometimes shit happens. Sometimes you also want to square the circle - and then guys like you promptly complain about not getting the impossible.Quote:

The only thing "broken" here is your intelligence.
That is absolute garbage, something built into a system can be broken, sometimes it is the very point of why it was in the system in the first place. I'd like to know the purpose of fuses if nothing built into a system can be broken, when they break they are doing what they are meant to do.
Politicians make an implicit agreement with the electorate that they will seek to do what we elect them to do at an election. After the election they are morally but not legally obliged to follow through with their commitments. If they fail to do so then they may have "broken" their pledges which got them elected and they can seek to justify that however that strikes them to do so. The public are free to judge them accordingly at subsequent elections.
