Happy new year from Los Angeles!
Short term, sure. It is all speculation still. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain/DAG technology are still in the infancy stage.
I sold my WTC a while ago so I wasn't affected by that drop.
Tulips? Probably more than 95% of these projects aren't going to go anywhere. But there are a few AMZNs in there.

Bought at 4 usd, now 170 usd. Will go to $1k by the end of the year.
For those that say there aren't currencies that support dividend...
Reddit would explain it better than I could: https://www.reddit.com/r/waltonchain/comments/70v4wi/welcome_to_waltonchain_read_this_for_more/
I'm not convinced of its longevity yet, but it has had...
I invested quite a bit into Antshares in June (now rebranded to NEO). I made a good amount from Waltonchain as well.
Wondering now how far BTC will go on this run and when the altcoins will make a...
Has anyone tried out cryptocurrency investments?
Bitcoin just hit an all time high and is getting quite close to $6k. Many are projecting well over $10k next year.

Lots of smoke and ash still falling here in San Francisco. Supposedly winds are picking up tonight, things are not looking good.
I managed to get a Juno pin last week - a couple of employees no longer working at JPL weren't there to pick theirs up :D

I went in at about 3:30 to vote and there was no wait.
I hope reddit isn't your only source of political news.
I don't understand why anyone would want to vote for either candidate to be honest, other than to vote for the "lesser of two evils"...which...

On CNN and CNBC its seemed like they were calling it more of a tie with their polls showing a very slight lead with Ryan, but those generally are pretty weak anyway. They discussed all the laughing...
Right, but some people prefer to pay for the CD rather than just a digital copy. The physical CD might not actually be worth much at all, but it may be a preferred medium of owning the music for...

With a CD you have a physical, tangible object. The files on the CD are digital, but you have a physical object with those files. Even though it is possible to simply copy-paste the files off the CD...
But there is a difference between a real tangible, physical object than a downloaded digital file.
You can copy and paste a file. You can't copy and paste a car. There's no way of knowing that the...
That technology has been around for a while. I haven't seen it anywhere and I'm not sure if it has actually been integrated any stores yet. Maybe there are safety concerns about it? I'm not sure.
...
When the machine can do the task itself and the technology is there it will eventually(and quickly) become more cost effective to not have a human there at all.
Grocery stores already have self...
We've already got computers and robots taking the place of people in car factories. In 5-10 years these robotics will be far more improved than they are now, looking at how quickly technology has...
I meant to respond to Steely Glint's Q of why we would rather just use an AI instead of a human. Either way when the 3.5 million truck drivers in the US lose their jobs, then what? As we enter an era...
I may be misinterpreting what you're saying but, to use an example that was discussed in the video, it is a real possibility that truck drivers may lose their jobs to AI in the somewhat near future....
