What would you do if you were invisible?

Ladies locker rooms? Bank withdrawals? Get hit by a car?

Have you ever read The Invisible Man? A very thoughtful treatment of the subject - very negative actually. A curse.

If you were a government, What would you do with it?

This invisibility business is pretty old hat, it was a bit of a news item a couple years ago, I actually did a small presentation on it for some seminar or other. It's dumb luck, I think, that some civvy scientists hit on this doing experiments on light refraction in the micro-scale, if military goon 'scientists' had found this we'd never have heard of it and there'd be invisible planes flying all over the place.

Of course, that civvies found it doesn't exclude the possibility of the goons finding it before that...
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

I doubt they could keep it secret. You never know though. These days invisible aircraft won't give much advantage anyway. They need invisibility uniforms - or something like what the aliens wore in Predator. That would be fucking scary to go up against if you were some afghani tribal jihadist or something.

More scary than a bunker buster?
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink, because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl.

Sure. If you're hiding in a cave or bunker somewhere and you get hit with one of those? Boom. Its done.

If the marines are hunting you in the woods or through the narrow streets or something and you can't see them? They already do that more or less with night vision equipment, I guess, but still...

I still like the idea of Thor's Hammer, aka kinetic bombardment from orbit
When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?
