I think she should offer an online class in removing blackness. I'd like to increase the appraisal on this place.

If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?

As someone with no intention of moving I need to go appropriate some black culture fast so I can get a break on my taxes.

Funny that you would say that because for tax purposes the opposite occurs.

Shocked to see Lewk being both racist and dumb.

Either the appraised value is higher and taxes go up but you can sell it for more or the appraised value is lower and taxes go down and you have to sell it for less. What do you think the problem is Hazir? Too high appraisals or too low?

How often do think appraisals are done to lower property taxes and outside of purchasing, selling, or refinancing? And how often do you think those appraisals can be gamed to lower property taxes enough to counter act it's natural growth since it's last appraisal?

When I bought my current home the appraisal came in lower than our offer, which threw our entire plan into limbo for a few days. We were lucky that our mortgage guy and the sellers were willing to shave a little off their profits for us to continue with the purchase. Everyone involved in the process and the entire neighborhood is white.

The last 2 appraisals I was apart of, we never even knew they were completed. No one came in and as far as we know no one jumped the fence to check out the rear of the property.

The issue highlighted by the study reported on in the second article is simply that, at the group level, for purposes of taxation, black homeowners are assessed at a higher level relative to the price for which their homes are eventually sold, compared to their white counterparts. Ie. they are assessed at a higher level for tax purposes but have to sell for less. This is, of course, the opposite of what Lewk said: "Either the appraised value is higher and taxes go up but you can sell it for more". The first article concerns mortgage refinancing, which is a separate financial issue. At the individual level, it's difficult to say how the calculations would come out overall; what these findings suggest is that black homeowners are—at the group level—more likely to be financially disadvantaged wrt taxation and mortgage refinancing than white homeowners in comparable situations. Which is, of course, shitty—and not something a person who doesn't have their head stuck up their fat asses would choose for themselves.

I was working up to that. Assuming he ignored that his original claim still ignores how property taxes and appraisals actually work.

The mechanisms to keep Blacks from building equity trough the housing market are well established and researched. It wouldn’t surprise me if compartive studies would show that the USA was better than SA on enforcing Apartheid.

    Only if there's consistency applied.
