Germany and Japan are no surprises. Our ranking vis a vis Italy is just hurtful though. I don't see a definition of terms on what makes working or deficient though.
I also notice the Nordic Four have all the top spots. I smell a standards bias![]()
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
I'm not a fan of this particular conception if democracy, but the US at 30-40 sounds about right.
Fuzzy, equality is 1/3 of the criteria for this definition.
Hope is the denial of reality
Yes, Lewk, discrimination against those who hold a vast majority of the power in this country is a clear sign that those with the power are actually oppressed.
FYI, legacy admissions in universities overwhelmingly benefit rich, white students, and a far larger number of students get in because of legacy status than because of affirmative actions. The same is true indirectly in many large firms, where knowing someone is at least as important as having the right skills.
Hope is the denial of reality
So an Asian kid who came from a broken home should have more difficulties getting into the school of his choice because other Asian's are doing well? Really? Why the fuck should your ethnicity matter? Why do you continue to be such an out and out racist? Like shit dude I know you work in academia and are likely indoctrinated but how can you actually look in the mirror and say "yes someone's race means it should be harder or easier for them to get into college." Like fuck dude it's vile.
As far as legacy admissions - those are shite too and certainly do not benefit the vast majority of white or Asian kids who apply either, but at least they aren't as putrid as discrimination based on race.

If you don't like that 'Democracy Matrix', there's plenty of other research that shows a waning confidence in democracy.

Not sure why the world would be listening to the US at The Summit for Democracy when we're no longer considered the model to emulate.![]()
I mean, such a survey is almost illegal in non-democratic countries...
