I have noticed that my nicotine dependence is seemingly nullified by my visits here. I can sit at this terminal for hours without a single craving. I noticed a similar phenomenon when quitting other drugs, keeping busy with something else that I could get lost in lessened the withdrawal symptoms. I'm sure that this is well known among drug/alcohol counselors, but I have stumbled upon it my usual DIY way. Of course now that I've noticed and began writing about it I am craving a smoke. I could understand if cigarettes were only Psychologically addictive, but even the physical symptoms don't appear until I think about it (like now). Mind-over-matter I guess, But maybe some of you more knowledgeable folks can explain it better than my intuition can grasp it.
