Oh! I was under the impression that broadcasts had changed, and antennae wouldn't work without a converter box. Lots of seniors in my area were worried and confused (myself included).

No options for sites like Reddit, Digg, StumbleUpon? Allows for a variety of information, and thanks to the commenting/voting systems, a solid level of vetting.
Format has changed, TV changed with it. I have a TV with the correct tuner built in and its pushing 5 years old. All current TVs can pull a digital signal without extra equipment.Oh! Free TV is doing quite well. Most of my channels are HD. All are ATSC. Even have a couple of movie only channels, news only, old time shows only, cartoons only. All free. The new digital format is really not that good in my area. If the signal strength drops below around 70% I get nothing, zilch, nada, except a bsod and tag reading "no signal". At least with the old analog broadcast the picture/sound might go staticy (staticey?,staticee?, dammit you know what I mean) but you could still watch the program.
As you have undoubtedly guessed, I druther television news. Oh, and would all you meatheads quit paying for t.v. programming. It's rediculous to pay for something that the networks are getting paid to do already.

I'd rather (Druther) just plug a cord into the wall, and receive all sorts of channels on my tv, any tv, plus internet on my computer, any computer. I don't want some geek guy coming to install a dish on the roof, or re-adjusting after storms.
I don't mind paying for it, I just don't want to be ripped off. Also don't want to play the game of new service at discounted rates, only to be caught in a higher contract for two years. Same shit the cell phone people pull.
My sister has two dishes on her roof. One is just to receive Greek TV, because her mother-in-law needs Greek TV (she doesn't really understand much English), and their Dish TV doesn't "do" Greek TV. That's just stupid.
