So, in the fable of King Solomon and the ring that makes a happy man sad and a sad man happy, how would that inscription ("this too shall pass") look in Hebrew?

Really don't want to trust the interwebs on a permanent "inscription," when I can ask someone who reads/speaks Hebrew if that's actually accurate.

It is NOT a Biblical quote, so there is no authoritative text to work from... but in the context of Hebrew sayings, you are correct about both the pronunciation and spelling of the phrase. That is the common Hebrew phrase that means "This, too, shall pass" as well as being associated with the aforementioned Solomonic fable. It even works in modern Hebrew as well as ancient.

You think? Said that way, it sounds to me more like you're talking about your second bout with kidney stones.

Either way, I think it's a wickedly apt phrase that deserves to be on some little piece of tribute/"peace offering" I give to a person or two I'm getting knocked off the top of the world.

Perhaps it would be the exact same phrasing as he has written now for "This too, shall pass." However context would determine how it should be read. *shrugs. Eitherway it's a cool phrase.
