I've paid for the last year for a Microsoft 365 subscription which includes the Office suite and a large Onedrive, for 5 PC's and tables/phones. I have this subscription linked to my PC, my Laptop, my wife's Laptop and my phone and tablet.
When it works well, it is great and worth the subscription cost for how much more efficient I find things. I have all my work folders saved under my OneDrive which is shared with my wife (she helps maintain a couple of spreadsheets for me) and I can work on one file, save it and then pick up anywhere else with it kept in sync and backed up in case of a system failure.
However oddly enough the one program it doesn't work great for is Microsoft Office. Whenever I try to Save or Save As a file after I open it with Excel, it frequently asks for permission demanding my username and password to access d.docs.live(insert long dynamic web address here) rather than just saving it locally and then dealing with it. Even if I type the username and password and click "remember me" the next time it does the same thing and is really irritating. If I click cancel instead and browse my folders to find the right folder then I can save and it works but I need to drill down a tree of sub-folders as it loads the wrong folder to start with.
I've tried searching online for a solution but can't find one. Apparently Excel is trying to be "smart" and changing the location to online ones but I don't want that, I want to work locally where I've saved it and then keep it in sync which is how it works if I force an over-ride every single time but that's not very efficient at all.
EG here is a link on MS website where the response is basically "don't use Onedrive": http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/o...85be51e?auth=1
