The events over the past couple months have made certain changes appear necessary. Dread and Rand have been trying to keep everything under control, and they have a pretty good record of success when they're around, but the problem is that they both have actual lives and careers that matter far more than this place. Unfortunately, the timing of things is such that the busiest time of the forum is also a time when neither of them are available. I've discussed this with Dread and Rand, and we need better mod coverage. Which is where I'm coming in.

For the first couple months after we got here we didn't really need much moderator action. It didn't matter much that the forum might have to wait a bit before one of the mods showed up, because even when there was stuff happening that could use Mod intervention, the community handled it well and it was safe to wait. At times since the move having mods seemed almost vestigial, since everyone here usually conducted themselves well enough that the community was effeciently self-policing. But the times, they are a changin'.

I honestly don't want to do this. I was fine with the setup before. I hope that one day I can quietly and without notice bury this new mod hat in the backyard. It clashes with my suit.

tl;dr: I'm going to be doing mod stuff now too.

For the record, I think this is great. Wraith has the pulse of a thrall/the community. Almost as important, he doesn't want to do this, which means he will put his estimable skill and talent into making good choices.

You're full of shit and you're playing games with me. You keep dodging the issue. Define the set of rules that you're going to enforce, then when you enforce them show the person what the offense was. "This post was hostile" is horse shit.
