Default Anyone in the market for a laptop?

Thought I'd ask on the forums first before putting it up somewhere else. It's the one I won in phase 3 of the Make Something Unreal Contest.

    This big honking beast.

I've only used it once, to see what the dealio was with it. I don't have any use for a laptop now, but I don't want it to go to waste.

    Here's the specs:

    Lenovo ThinkPad W700
    17" display
    Windows Vista Business 64 bit
    Intel Core2 Extreme Q9300 2.53 GHz
    8GB RAM
    NVidia Quadro FX 3700M
    Integrated WACOM tablet
    Thumbprint scanner
    Integrated camera

Any other info you need let me know. Make me an offer!

The integrated tablet is kind of interesting, but I doubt I'd actually use it; my kids do need new laptops I'm thinking netbooks for them.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

What do they need laptops for? Netbooks are fun and easy to lug around but for kids who aren't walking about with them everywhere you can usually get a better deal from Dell outlet with a "regular"
notebook. Of course if you're expecting the kids to lug the netbook around and beat the crap out of it, Dell has a buttload of netbooks in their outlet store starting at $225, makes it easier to swallow when those hinges crack.

And congrats angelmapper, thats heads and shoulders over the laptop microsoft sent me.

They do tend to walk around with them, though. They haven't broken the ones they have now, but they are about 2 years old and I'm getting rather frustrated with my attempts to reconcile them with my Windows 7 pc so they can access the printer and whatnot. I was even able to make it work with the last one that was Vista, but this time it's totally bonkers and nothing I try seems to work.

Buddy Boy has permission to do the majority of his homework on the computer.

I haven't really looked into netbooks yet, if I don't think that will work I'll just buy exceedingly low-end laptops for them.

Whoa, that's a beast, though I'm sure it must weight a ton.
    Your search had no results.

I'll give you $200 for it.

You can draw with it. We got (a much bigger) one for work some time ago, they're nifty.
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

What does the pen/touch pad do?
Maybe, it lets the user write text by pen in word editors.

    ooOOooohhh.. Pretty.

    It retails for what? $4.5K?

Gayboots started the bidding at $200.
    I'll go $250.

On a side note, SUICIDE is retarded, isn't he? Dropped on his head? Fetal Alcohol Syndrome? Dj Yami Syndrome? What?

    $300

Laptops typically suck for image editing. I wonder how this one would do.

That NVidia Quadro FX 3700M with 1GB of video memory will blow away a consumer desktop in design intensive programs. Its not a gaming chip.
