The biggest problem I see with the sense of fashion is that the jeans are rolled up.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

I wear jeans and flip flops until it gets well into winter sometimes.

It was raining, boots were wet, hence thongs and rolled up jeads.

Americans need to work on their fashion too

Hmmm it was jeans not jeads!

It was the first time it had rained in months and it did so for 3 days - just happened to be the three days we were on a motorcycle trek!

My boots were in front of the fire (along with everyone else's) and the only other footwear I had was thongs, it was about 5 fucking degree's so there was no way in hell I was wearing shorts.

    So, not excuses, just reasons.

It's a toilet bowl on the space station. I went on a field trip there...

Actually, it's an arch over a doorway in the Smithsonian "Castle", in DC

I think it's very graceful and soothing. Clean and simple. My favorite bit is how the top of te molding almost fades away in the light, and how the shadows are coming from all over, in no relation to the light from upper mid-right.

I forgot to congratulate NGS on his win. Congrats! It's a pretty cool image. What is it? Is it a scultpure? Do you have any other pics of it in full?

Thanks! It's two branches from a metal tree in Nantes, France. The tree is part of an island complex devoted to creating all of Jules Verne's imaginary creatures and works from his book, with the ultimate goal of combining all 15 machines into one carousel. Here's a pic from the outside:

And yes, that 40 ft elephant moves. The tree is actually only a prototype for the 200ft tree they'd like to build. Here's a linky with more info.

Wonderful, it features the typical weather barrier at the Swiss-Italian border. I will be in Zermatt again in the end of January.

    Is that your design, Bitter?

Unique design. I love the three rings just a bit off kilter. It also has an Old World Look to it, almost like a 30's flavor. Not sure I like the big diamond on top though, because it reminded me of a cupcake. But even then it looks yummy set in smaller diamonds. The ridging (or whatever is the jeweler term) in platinum is lovely. I noticed those ridge dots before the tiny diamonds, actually. They look like tiny diamonds themselves. That must have taken a loooong time to make. Damn you're good.

Thanks GGT. It's taken a long time to get where I am now, but I still impress myself like with this job.

This design is based on very traditional and classic looks that have made a comeback.
This customer wanted "options" for this remount (using all her old stones). With this she can wear the center ring alone, stack it with the two bands, or wear all three of the bands stacked.

A little back story...this isn't her engagement/bridal set, this is for her right hand. A cocktail set, if you will. Her fiance bought a platinum engagement ring from a very long standing and reputable, high end jewelery store in her area. The ring is really cool, but not practical. Her center stone has loosened a couple times now, and the store told her she is too hard on it. But she's not. It's a really poor design for durablility from an international big name designer. This is the new trend. Make fantastic unusual designs that aren't practical. I armed her with all the information she needs to battle the store to get the ring "fixed". She is still arguing with them, and they told her I don't know what I am talking about. LOL. The sad thing is that she is at risk of losing the center stone.

What's that, a little grape cluster?

Bitter, knowing it's 3 bands that can be interchanged is even more marvelous! I love that Old Style look, maybe it's Art Deco inspired? Your client should just bring her engagement ring to you and screw the 'reputable high end' jeweler telling her she's too hard on it. That sounds stupid. If you can't wear an engagement or wedding ring 24/7, in all kinds of conditions, then it's not the fault of the wearer. Right?

  21. #111
Yes, GGT...it is a bunch of grapes! Actually, that kid looks madder than hell, I thought! Considering a "costume" can cost around $50, a bag of purple balloons and some green face paint/hair paint is pretty cheap, and imaginative!

I went on a two hour walk in the local forests, getting some pictures of autumn trees.

That is the jolliest of robots
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Hmmm I wonder if Ike died at the keyboard?

Or perhaps it was a stroke and he is all fucked up and paralysed in front of the computer while dribbling spittle all over his chin but still conscious and reading this thinking "That fucking Termite is a real prick".
