I'm not sure who you're talking to. During human anatomy, we routinely used Stryker saws and hammer/chisel for bones. Scalpels were useful for fiddly bits of soft tissue, but most stuff could be done with a probe and forceps with some scissors thrown in for good measure.

Scalpels and other high quality surgical instruments are very useful for survival surgeries when you need precision above all, but aren't that useful for dissections, to be honest. I only use them for very delicate tasks like severing ACLs/MCLs of rat knees, not the grosser dissections.

Even in surgery, though, we regularly use power tools. This isn't just for animal work - we work with a lot of plastics guys and orthopedic surgeons, and they use them a lot. Obviously the surgical tools are a bit more refined for human work, but basic hardware and tools are often the easiest and most effective for a given task.

I'd love to go to the beach!

Whoa, that's certainly an unusual one. Do people often order custom purple-accented rings?

There was a family standing right by us, but I took it fairly early in the morning on the day we left.

The beach seemed to get more crowded as the day went on, and then emptied out in the evenings.

Our beaches are always crowded, it's annoying sometimes. And then apparently our beaches are less crowded than those in North or South Holland...

The southern coast of Lake Superior. That cliff is about two hundred feet up. Here's some more:

This is the exact same spot the first photo was taken from, just looking the opposite way.

This is a little further along the trail. These cliffs go on for about 20 miles or so.

This one is looking straight down from a sheer cliff. Those rocks are the size of cars.

Its a very nice area and the weather was perfect that day, if a little humid. I've been there when the waves crash so hard on the rocks you can feel the booming in your chest.

    Beautiful views Eyekhan.

Here's my freshly bloomed Dragon Lilies.
They wil begin smelling like rotting meat in a day or two.

    How flowery.

The lines in the first one disturb me, but I like the second.

    I LOVED Oblivion!

Each bead was made by cutting off equal lengths of wire, and melting them into balls.
Each bead is laser welded, one at a time, to the ring base, looking through a low power microscope.

Have I told you lately that I fucking love you?

Your work is almost as sexy as you.

Everybody is making that comment about the cluster ring and Game of Thrones, which I have not seen either.

I caught these two getting busy in my garden. That's a sunflower stalk, btw. According to the seed package these babies will grow to 20 feet tall. I'll believe it when I see it.

    Closer up for the pervs....

Cue inevitable suggestion for a animal perv thread.

Come now. If we can't sustain a tasteful nudy thread, you think anyone's going to want to browse through a bunch of animals doing it doggy style, basically the only way they know how? Well, some here would, now that I think about it. But you have to admit, flys doing it is just hilarious. I know that's something 93.8% of everyone has never seen.
