Plan to use solar power in Arizona in super-cool power-station is mostly hot air

Well, I noticed that too. But I'm not familiar with this kind of thing, at all. I can imagine such projects being, well, seperately funded? By big investments, rather than small stock?

I saw an article implying they had gotten some financing, but only to the tune of $30 million (IIRC) or so. Don't know how in the hell they plan to build a 200 MW power plant from that. Their previous attempt in Australia fell flat. Let's just say there are far better investments out there.

Flixy- Yes. But the low market cap just suggests this company hasn't actually done much. It would be one thing if this was a totally private venture. But the fact that has taken the trouble to go public without having done anything is sort of sketchy.

Usually companies build a business with private investment/lending. Then they go public to reward early investors or raise more capital. This company is already public for reasons I can't figure out. Seems like a very bad investment unfortunately.

That pretty much confirms what I thought. Possibly they were hoping to bring a design that is actually good to electricity companies, and have them make the investment (as is common in power plants, though usually they commission the design themselves).

Still, neat idea, but I do doubt how far beyond a dream it is.
