I have decided twice now not to post on Atari any more except when the absent regulars showed up to point them this way. I still would browse it logged off. But the continuing drama keeps pulling me in sometimes since the virtual flesh is weak. After all I started posting in various forums since the urge to get things of my chest is strong.

But the thing is ... we are about the only ones creating traffic there. I see little hope of any sensible moderation happening there. There will be no Deus Ex Atari Employa who will come down from the heavens, cast he who shall not be named into the pits of Marvel Comicalness and make everything smell like roses again. So why are we still hitting our collective heads against the Atari-CC wall?

Isn't it about time we remove ourselves from that place? Just leave it be. Let them talk about Comic Adaptations. Post game pictures. Whatever. It all seems so useless and we should have gotten the message already. It may feel like defeat, but in reality the battle was lost weeks ago with Phoxe pulling the plug.

We have no business there any more.

I mostly only go when I accidentally type in the first couple letters out of muscle-memory, or when someone else starts talking about the drama there. But I've also always wanted to play in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and since my plans to create one in meatspace are still a few years until fruition, it's a substitute until then.

Obviously I cannot post there anymore, but I admit I do go and read a few new posts sometimes. Timmy is very comical in his ineptness. I don't think anyone relevant here has had any hopes of somehow reclaiming CC for awhile now. That's why this move was so successful.

I suppose I do delight in Timmy's hurt feelings, however. It's very wrong of me, he seems to be on the functional level of a 9-year-old, but the smugness of his behaviour irritates me to no end.

Indeed. That as well is one of my motivations of logging on again. To take that smugness down a notch. But it's impossible when the 9 year old has all kinds of buttons he can push when he's on a tantrum.

He did! Insofar as I remember. It's a pretty good story, really. Ham-fisted and crude, sure, these are comic books we're talking about. But there's a lesson in there, or a message. About the futility of it all, and about what we mean to ourselves.

Wasn't the Infinity Gauntlet actually stolen from him? It was Warlock who decided he didn't want the omnipotence that time. The only other time I remember reading was Infinity Abyss (I think? Wikipedia is useless), and he was kinda tricked there, so I don't think it should count.

Rightly or wrongly, i only keep going there as i want to make a point regarding the inconsistency from Tim. I just find it a little annoying that i, like many of you, spent years there only to be forced to give it up in the space of a month. Also, I'd like to think that the ACC has been left in good hands or has the chance to flourish into a new community. Regardless of the present, the past was very enjoyable and if a group can experience what we have, then I'd be happy and gladly leave it.

However, i doubt that will happen as long as Tim is modding the place.

I don't remember the issue so please don't make me quote it, but the gist was that Warlock told Thanos that Thanos did not really desire omnipotence because Thanos knew he wasn't fit for it. And Thanos agreed. This changed his motives and he began to seek information instead of raw power. The storylines of this were hit and miss, but there you go. And arguably Thanos had omnipotence once before the Infinity Gauntlet storyline when he messed with the Cosmic Cube, but that was so early in Marvel history that it was pretty crap. And then there was the time Thanos was forced to create the universe.

Have you in all this time seen Tim say: "Yeah, ok, you got a point, I might have: overreacted/made a mistake/interpreted you wrong/misunderstood your question?" Anything? I haven't. He repeatedly tells you what your point was, what your question was and how he answered satisfactory. he doesn't need any input from you to do that. He is living in his own special world where he is right and loves making walls of ambiguous texts which I doubt he himself can decipher.

I've not seen anything, you're absolutely right. Heck he even managed to misunderstand when i said this: "It's a topic that isn't against the rules, so no, it's not spam!" and claimed i said it's spam . However I still can't get my head around how his logic things that a thread about Trains, is different to a thread about comic to film adaptations in terms of spam.

However i moan like buggery in real life, vast amounts of patience to match so unfortunately i find myself constantly going there.

I'll say it again, you are the most stable, and now sensible, person in this community. IMHO I have no idea why the obsession. This place has everything except Timmy and Phoxe. WTF? He's got a big ego. Debating or arguing with someone with a big ego is useless. Big egos feel threatened by ANYTHING you say. So arguments become irrelevant. For such a person anything you say is trolling because of his lack of mental stability. For paranoid people, anything is a threat.

I left after the first warning. It is not my interest to engage in psychotic exchanges.

At least Kathaksung is harmless. He has his weird views that are even amusing. So we may say he has his mind "out of the box".
But Timmy is different, he is really annoying, like having someone who feels the "king of the world" just for the fact that he was given infraction powers.
Here we have old timers, this forum can also be blue like the old AtariCC. The only thing is that it is not AtariCC.

But still I find it annoying to surf the AtariCC and see all the spam created by Timmy, and then I come back to comment at the corresponding thread.
I am sure Timmy must be reading, people with such an ego may find hard to resist. A big ego likes to see when you talk about them.

After a forum crash everyone's post count is gone.
Why should you worry?

You may worry about "reputation" caused by infractions by Timmy...
Worry thou shall not. Your reputation is the way we treat you. Communities self-regulate. In a nicely modded forum, you know that an infraction comes as disciplinary action to keep threads enjoyable, issued by a mod with moral authority among the community.

But AtariCC does not need too much regulation. And newbies could easily feel comfortable with old timers and our freedom of speech. Ok, there are some harsh words from some members, but we know this is the way of specific members, in a friendly environment.

And then Timmy came to disrupt the community with his "thou shall obey my commands" and uses infraction points. He may have software privileges, but internet is big. Timmy does not belong to our community and he lacks moral authority amongst us. So his infractions are worthless in terms of "reputation". Dread and Randblade have earned their reputation as good mods. You earned your reputation by being here and be our friend.

I don't care about losing the post count at all.

I never had a run-in with any of the mods in the new regime and besides, I hurt my own reputation more than any mod could ever do.

Also, keep in mind the archtect of that destruction was Phoxe, not Timmy.

Last, the only concern I have about that old forum is the large number of posts I made that ought to probably be deleted for a variety of reasons. (I'll be on the short list for Supreme Court Justice, probably, if the Democrats are in charge when the next opening occurs) I still have my account so I could delete them myself but I still have 16k posts there... That's a lot of crap to sift through.
