so I'll get back to you on that one. I also don't road everywhere. If a city is closest to a city on the coast with a harbour, it gets connected to that city alone, so it'll trade through the harbour.
Hmmm, I guess I should be a bit less librul with my roading. If the city ain't on a main thoroughfare for troop movements, and it is on the coast, I won't road it.

Saying that, my economy has always been able to support having all cities roaded. It's only when trying to railroad 'em all too that the shit hits the financial fan.

Much more careful road & railroad layout planning in new game then. Playing as the Ayrabs, so I'm gonna jihad all the rest of the infidel scum.
