I find base ten easier to calculate.

And I find it easier to base time on things like the revolution of the Earth, and how long said planet takes to orbit its sun. Its no different than your base ten thing.

But that is probably only because you grew up with it. If you had grown up in a hexadecimal world, you'd find that easier.
